2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

Good question since the GMC trucks' knobs do light up (although in red)

I contacted Chevrolet, who contacted the Dealer. The dealer told me that they are attempting to get a fix from Engineering before they can repair the problem. This could be an expensive fix for Chevrolet !

So i took my truck to a place around my way that works on police cars and just about everything. They looked at the radio knobs and told me and showed me where the resistor was missing. It's a simple fix, the problem is just getting it done.

I have a 14 sierra slt with some small issues. The seats didn't always go to the memory setting when you hit the recall on 1 or 2. The auto folding mirrors do not engage when the vehicle gets shut off. The setting on the screen is set to on. It also did not start twice in remote start but had no issues starting with the key. Beside that this is the best riding truck I ever owned. Awesome job in redesigning both interior and exterior. Drives like a car. Quiet ride.

So from a little playing around, the setting has to be on off for it to work, the mirrors will work when you hold the lock and unlock button in your remote for 3-5 seconds.

OK, but I don't believe that the Dealers are going to be soldering in a resistor. I would think Chevy will have to ship circuit boards with all the correct components, fully tested, which is what they should have done. Why would the GMC trucks work and the Chevy not?

Trust me when I tell you I got into a big argument with the executive office today. They didn't wanna help with anything. It got to the point where their going to ask the engineers how to fix this problem.

Well just to let everyone know, GM will not approve the " modification" needed to allow the LEDs to turn on. They are calling a last minute budget change and that is why the resistors are not in place. This coming from the executive dept. So if anyone else hears of a change in plans please let us know.

This is the type of thing that makes the news, results in a lawsuit and looses GM customers.
