2014 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab. While cleaning my truck today, I noticed a small (about 1.5 Inches) tear in the carpet that meets the center console on the driver's side. Has anyone else seen this?

SPC,

Oh no! I am sorry to read that you found a tear in the carpet in your vehicle. I would like to further look into this concern for you. Please private message me referencing this thread if I can be of any assistance.

My production was around the same time. There was a connect inside the hole. I had to feel around for it but was able to pull it out. I went to the dealership and showe them. They stated it was an option however you couldn't order the option. Until them that's dosnt make a whole lot of sense and they agreed and said they would order the light and put it in for me for free. Sounds like maybe the august production trucks they forgot to install these lights or the trucks that came with the lights the dealers put them in. I would think the first option is more then likely the case.

The dealer found the same 1 1/2 inch cut on another LTZ and therefore said that it should be there. I talked to a different mechanic who said that previous years models may have needed the cut for an accessory. In any case, it is poor quality! GM any comment on this?

If this cut is on your truck and on another truck like it. Then the carpet is probably made that way and will be there if replaced anyway?

Outside Temperature 24 degrees F this morning. Remote Start did not turn on the Heated Seats. GM insists that they are working properly. How cold does it have to get GM?

Same here in central Minnesota. 30 degrees, remote start, cold seats. The option is turned on in system settings...

This has been reported several times in this thread. I believe my 2011 would turn them on if it was 40 or below.. maybe 45.

So today my backup camera decided to develop a mind of it's own. I suspect there's a short or a loose connection somewhere. It came on when I left work and when I backed out of a parking lot after I stopped for something to eat it didn't come on and again when I got home. The option for the rear camera also disappeared from the MyLink system when the camera wouldn't come on. Tried factory resetting everything but it still didn't work. I finally got out and opened my tailgate and slammed it shut and it came back on once and then wouldn't come back on after I put it in park and shifted to reverse again. Slammed the tailgate again and it started working again.

I also have the squeeky front seat and the passenger side Rancho strut is leaking.

I guess it's time to call the dealership...

Fun times...

I was informed by phone today that the hole in the carpet is "normal" for 2014 Chevy Silverado trucks, at least the LTZ. So much for fit and finish!

are you talking about the carpet between the bottom of the seat and the center console? If so.. who cares? it's impossible to see unless you crawl down below and look for it.....

It is easy to see with the seat back. In any vase it's a vehicle that costs as much as a house in some areas and GM didn't take the time to repair 1 1/2 inch cut in the carpet! I Care! You didn't pay for my truck! Do U work for GM?
