2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

well...1st post here, but figured id share my experience with my 14. has 4500 miles now. I work for a dealer, and my truck seems to be the only one with any issues of the ten or so we have sold so far.

1) drivers seat, clips were broken on the inside, moved all over, cover was backordered, finally fixed.

2) power sliding window, i currently have no rear seats in my pickup as we are waiting for a regulator to come in.

3) rear seats rattle something terrible, most of the last gen trucks (10,11,12,13) that i owned had a minor rattle, but nothing like this

4) homelink works intermittantly-my shop is going to order a new module and try that

5) passenger seat has a mettalic pop in the rear of the seat towards the top if you push on it at all

6)drivers side seat has a wierd movement in the seat cushion still. not sure what to do with it, on top of the movement it is very very noisy. sounds like an old truck.

7) laggy mylink

8) squeak when either the AFM comes off or gas is applied, seams to come from the rear of the truck somewhere, drivetrain related

lots of positives about this truck, fuel econ has been pretty positive, there just seems to be so many issues that sometimes the good is hard to see. Although i work at a dealer sometimes that is a curse, its a lot easier to tell me live with it then it would be to tell a customer the same thing. Hopefully someone can chime in with what a dealership did to fix thiers so i can point our tech in the right directions.

In reference to #6 do you have the crash avoidance, lane departure option?

Can anyone that had this problem tell me what exactly was replaced to fix your driver seat moving all over? Mine is doing this, and I took it to my local dealer and showed them. they see it moving but have no clue what the problem is and rescheduled me for next wednesday so they can tear into it and see what is going on. I would love to be able to tell them what parts or what exactly needs to be replaced because he even asked if I knew how to fix it since I said other people have this issue also, he asked if I knew what they did to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

I know Jenny (the GM customer service rep on this forum) know what was done. Might want to pm her...

I already asked in a pm and she said someone would be calling me within a couple of days. Prior to taking my truck back in.

I still would like to know from people that had issue, what was done to fix it?

Idle problem 2014 LTZ 1500 5.3L. Have 4000 miles and have had problem since day one at idle holding brake in drive at red light where its at 400 RPMs. Service managers at 2 dealers said its was because of engine cylinders changing and a EPA mandate and said there was nothing they could do about it. Can't believe a $50 truck is going to shake as if it was 20 years old. Third dealer was kind enough to look up problem with GM and saw that they were having complaints. He told me that his reports are telling him to shim up motor mounts. ???? Dropping it off Wednesday. Is anyone else getting this response.

I would second this question? What did the dealership do to fix seat

The inside clips were broken on mine causing the leather seat cover to move around. Replaced that, solved one of the movement issues. Now im left with the other one where when you hit a large bump the center of the seat feels kike.it just gives straight down. Plus the noise, seats are super noisy. From both the material under the seat and the leather rubbing the plastic trim. Dont even get me started on the rear seat rattle. Worst rattle I have ever had in any new vehicle hands down.

Has anyone noticed that when sitting at idle the engine seems to really run rough and shake the truck a bit? I take my foot off the brake and move forward a bit and it goes back to smooth as glass. But sitting in traffic, you can feel it vibrate throughout the whole truck. 2014 Sierra 5.3.

Mine is doing this too. Sometimes is smooth, other times it feels so rough...almost like it is going to stall. I'm going to bring it in at my first opportunity.

Went to dealership today for loose seat and they ordered a new seat bracket. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

Hey there,

I am sorry to read that you are a vehicle issue regarding your seat being loose. I would like to look into this concern for you. Private message me if I can be of any assistance including a brief overview of your issue, contact information, VIN, and dealership.
