2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

Recommended Posts

If it was your new 2014 truck that was not repairable yet GM was not willing to do a buy back would it be a mole hill? This guy went through hell until he finally got his buy back and replacement truck. Did you even follow his adventure?

I read the whole thread, it sucks but he didn't go through "hell". And he got a brand new replacement truck, didn't take very long either. The whole ordeal started and ended in three weeks. I've had smaller problems not vehicle related take as long as a year to get straightened out. Not to mention he had a 2014 Sierra SLT as loaner for the whole time, it's not like they gave him a Focus to drive while they had his truck.

WE already determined that little man Won either gets paid by Ford to come on here to talk **** or he is just a bored little man little in his motherâs basement with nothing better to do.

As for the problems - how many 2014 trucks to do guys think GM has produced now? 50K ? 75K? more ? Based on that number⦠how many lemons or âbad onesâ do you think slip through?

What bothers me is someone comes here, reads through a handful of issues and assumes all these trucks are garbage. The truth is a small percent ( likely under 1%) are going to have some major issue that requires a buyback. Iâm sure Ford and Dodge have their problems and are no better than GM. By reading

some of these treads you would think that half these trucks are junk. But that simply is not true⦠the vast majority love these trucks and have no issuesâ¦

The bottom line .... you are going to hear much more from the guys that have issues, vs the guys that don't

Why does anyone care what he got and didn't get? This is about people having issues with their trucks and how to resolve them. If he got his money back and a new truck then good! Honestly I wish I did as well. I still can't believe I spent 50,000 and got all these issues.

I am really close to buying a new one, because of both need and want. Having a hard time wanting to buy one of these though with the issues stated.

I went through a nasty battle with GM back in April over a 1 year old Tahoe that was in the shop 8 times in 4 months for the same problem, and was told it was normal....BS. Left the wife stranded 3 times.

Long time GM fan so I chalked it up to a lemon and traded after the last repair for one identical to the other. I know smart right.

No probs with it but I took a beating on the trade even though the dealer was very helpful.

When you have to deal with the jackasses GM refers to as field represenatives it will be a fight that's not in the customers favor to win, in my experience.

Leaning hard towards a Ford Raptor, just hate to forgo a purchase with all the GM card points I have earned.

Not looking forward to battle GM

Here is my update regarding my transmission issue.

GM basically told me to drive my 2014 silverado LTZ until my transmission falls out!!! ( GM Don't care at all )

Mi local dealership was kind enough to allowed me to trade it for another LTZ. Of course I will be taking a beating with the trade.

I will post a photo of the new truck!

Wish me luck.

Have a good tranny shop and a good independent shop look at/drive it first. May want to wait for 6.2 and just use ranger to shut off AFM.

Same problem here. I took it in once no dash light but truck kept sputtering. They said may be bad gas. Drained the tank and filled up at dealer. They said it was fixed. Before I made it home from the dealer, 35 miles away, doing same thing again. Replaced both catylitic converters twice. Entire wiring harness to fuel pump 2 fuel pumps, and several different sensors. This and still no admittance of a lemon. Dealer did try and obviously changed every part of the system that the so called trouble codes pointed to. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Just got a 2014 LTZ 2 days ago...when I drift with foot off the accelerator, at any speed going straight on smooth pavement, I'm getting an inconsistent knocking, clunking noise from the rear, probably the differential. It doesn't occur from downshifting of the tranny...I'm talking a consistent speed while drifiting, and then all of the sudden some knocks and clunking. I have no issues or noises while accelerating, just upon deceleration, at all speeds. Sometimes I hear it, sometimes I don't. I don't really feel anything in the seat...just the noise. I am pissed! I've captured the noise on my cell phone, just in case I get the "We don't hear anything" excuse from the dealership. The one noise lasted for 8 full seconds. It's going back soon for examination.

Think it could just be something simple rattling underneath? I'm not that lucky.

To update my post above from 2 days ago...the master transmission tech (seasoned mechanic) took a ride with me to hear the above noise. Luckily, he heard it...many times. Because it had only been 2 days since purchasing this vehicle, the dealership decided to void the original contract and gave me all money back. I don't think the truck had actually been titled yet, so they get to still set it as new to someone else. The tech thought it was an exhaust issue as his first guess. He wanted to "rip out the entire back end of the exhaust" for starters. Screw that.

So, in the end, I got this today instead. 2014 Sierra, All-Terrain package. Love the wheels! Gun metal, painted gray 20's...and the painted front and rear bumpers, and grill. I just gotta add running boards, spray the bed, throw on my Extang tonneau.

Wow! That thing is sharp!

I have been following the thread in regards to the driver seat movement issues and was wondering what the latest was for any of the guys having the fix applied? Does the fix seem to do the trick or only make it less noticeable?

I am looking to see if I can get a local dealer to take a look and have it fixed ASAP. Any idea how long it took to get parts in and to do the actual fix?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I would like to know too. My seat is starting to pop and wiggle when turning. Very annoying!

While I don't have 2014 I have sued GM and won about my first 2011 that ended up getting a new motor at 600 or so miles. There is a thread on here by me (search for it), I used a lemon lawyer and all worked out. Feel free to PM me.

I actually have great news!!

GM has accepted a buy back!! I'm getting a even better truck than what I originally had, a 2014 silverado LTZ Z71 loaded with a sunroof. Plus some extra goodies.

I couldn't believed. I was ready to apply for a lemon law.

All I can say is thanks GM And my local dealership.

I will post some photos of my new truck soon.
