I think it's the 89,000 miles you got on your truck that is the problem....

But then again we all know how great these GM Products hold up and 89K on a truck is just warming it up.  Between me and my parents we've owned 8 GM Vehicles, We traded off 2 when they hit 200,000 miles. My parents are still driving one that has 214,000 miles.  And we wrecked 2 that were over 100K.  I wouldn't be scared to buy it but just not in the market.....  GOOD LUCK!!

Lets see, a 2001 truck with 89,590 miles on the odometer?  Let's safely say that we are still in model year 2003, that means your truck is only 2-3 years old (Depeding on your in service date) but I'll use 2 years as my basis.  That equals 44,795 miles per year, 861.4 miles per week, and 122.73 miles per day.

To put that in perspective, my '02 HD only has 15,000 miles on it in one year.  That means in order to equal your mileage in my second year, I'd need to drive it 74,590 miles this year!

If the total hours was listed, it could still be reasonable buy at $17K.  It's not unusal anymore for someone to travel 50-100 miles each way for commute to work.  The other reason for the mileage could still be highway, used for towing/hauling goods from town to town for the various shows like gun shows or gem/mineral shows etc.  I used to know one gun vendor that would travel 6 to 8 western states various gun shows selling custom cases and M16/AR15 parts.  It wasn't a very heavy load just bulky that needed a 20' tandem trailer.

But the owners history isn't included with this listing, so who knows.

I agree, I used to rack up about 80 miles a day simply commuting to and from work.  Just stating the obvious though, if you bought a truck from me two years ago with 7 miles on the odo (roughly) and then come back two years later with nearly 100k on the clock and expect $25-30K for resale, I'd tell you go jump in Lake Michigan.

I can't turn around and sell a two year old truck with 100k for $30+k (after standard dealer markup up to repair anything, marketing cost, and turn around cost) when there are new ones right next to it with 7-10 miles on it that are nearly the same cost.

Kinda see what I mean?!
