My truck was backed into!!!

So the woman that backed into it just called me wanting to know if I still wanted to go through with turning it into the insurance company. She said that because of how I was parked that she didn't know if her insurance will cover fixing my truck or not. She said they might just tell her that they will fix her van, and my insurance will have to fix my truck. No way is that going to happen! I told her to go ahead, and tell her insurance company anyhow. The road I was parked on is a private drive with no outlet in a mobile home development, and I was parked their because my truck wont fit anywhere else while I mow. Not sure how this is going to go, but I new it would turn into a huge ordeal!

your taking the right approach and the higher ground, but if the woman is gonna be a scumbag about it and not just own up to her mistake, then do what you gotta do

I don't see any damage............................

A quick yank will pull that bumper out a inch or so.

Seems TWO people are making a mountian out of a molehill...................

Wow really? Hard to see in a picture compared to in person, but why the hell would I want to try and fix it half assed myself on a brand new truck when it's her fault she backed into me? You must be really intelligent...

Why thank you for the nice comment!

Its a 2011 truck..........2 YEARS old !

I now can see why the woman is giving you a hard time!

Make sure you RUN out and get a $5000 estimate for a new frame and new box,

bumper, and I am sure your exaust system is damaged too and did you get

whiplash to boot?

I was calm and pleasant to the lady, but hey if you have money to burn on a new vehicle, and let someone smash things up on it, and not care then I guess that's cool too

Mods please close this thread now so the Troll can go away.

I had a 2005 Dodge Ram fixed that was lightly rear ended. Damage was minimal, but noticeable if you looked closely.

My point is this. We have insurance for a reason. We pay a lot of money for insurance. Use it. I'm not taking a hit on resale or trade-in value just to save the other person's insurance from raising.

Glad the damage was minimal. If the girlfriend was truly sorry then she should have no problem taking responsibility. Accidents do happen but you gotta own them and do your best to make them right.

Get an estimate to fix the damage. Present the estimate to the woman. Some people will pay out of their own pocket, if not and her insurance denies the claim..... Small Claims Court. All the expenses will be hers to pay

I would be fine with however they wanted to go about it, but they never gave that option. Seems like she would rather get out of it than fix it. I let my insurance agent know what's going on anyhow so the insurance companies can bicker over it. My agent told me she hit it so she needs to fix it. Period.

Make it clear to her insurance that you did not go to that side of town with plans to get rear ended.

Haha that's a good way to put it I guess.

WON,

sorry to go offtopic but how much can I pay you to change your avatar? Freaks me out every time I see it :(
