My truck was backed into!!!

So I mowed grass today for a family friend like I do every Saturday, and I have to park along the road while I do it. I was out back talking to the lady I mow for, and her neighbor comes around the house and tells me that he has some bad news. His girlfriend backed into my truck. Didn't do much damage that I can tell, but it did tweak the bumper, and pushed the bedside below the tail light into my tailgate. I'm hoping that it didn't tweak the bedside somewhere else. Ugh just great!

Bummer. At least he told you. I've read too many hit and run stories. Get it to a decent body shop and it'll be better than new.

Yea, I was happy he was honest about it. He told me he felt bad because it was probably at least a 20K truck. His girlfriend about died when I said the msrp was about 42K  I was highly pissed inside, but I realize people make mistakes so I kept calm. I have a really good body shop in mind.

Things happen in life friendships are hard to build trucks will rust and fad away. You were not hurt in the hospital clinging to life. The body shop will give you back your baby and life will go on. Be thankful the person step forward as the deductible would have been on you.

The only thing that irritated me was his girlfriend kept saying there wasn't any damage, and when I found some she got pissy, and acted like it wasn't her problem.

I had a Ram (the real kind) run out from the side of the road and hit my front tire, then rolled into the rear door, put a dent in the rear fender and bashed in the rear bumper - kind of like yours. Total damages were around 4K - the lady who owned the sheep thought she had insurance - but it turns out that her homeowners policy did not cover her farm animals - I had the damage repaired under my comp insurance and they went after her and her insurance company - they settled about 6 mo after the event. I was only out 50.00 deductible - which I got back when my co got their money.

BTW I took a couple of looks before I found my damage - I was not looking low enough. I also had a Nerf bar that was frame mounted that also absorbed some of the impact. The lady also reacted the same way - damage what damage - the cop and I had to show her.

I was also lucky that we were not in open range country - there the wreck would have been my fault and I would be replacing the ram.

Had my bumper pushed in same way. I attached a tow strap to a tree and my fender and gently pulled my truck forward. Looks good as new.

Same here, I bumped a tree and pushed it in just like his and was able to yank it out with my hand, just kept pulling on it and it came back like it never was there.

Funny I tried to take my light bar off (it's supposed to slide off two pipes) and it wouldn't come out I tied it to a post I pulled the post out if the ground. I tied it to my moms truck... I dragged her truck.. So I tied it to a tree and it pulled my whole bumper forward... I pushed the bar against the tree to fix the bumper I got out thinking oh great it's in farther.. It still didn't budge.. But my bumper is fixed :/ idk what to do

So the woman that backed into it just called me wanting to know if I still wanted to go through with turning it into the insurance company. She said that because of how I was parked that she didn't know if her insurance will cover fixing my truck or not. She said they might just tell her that they will fix her van, and my insurance will have to fix my truck. No way is that going to happen! I told her to go ahead, and tell her insurance company anyhow. The road I was parked on is a private drive with no outlet in a mobile home development, and I was parked their because my truck wont fit anywhere else while I mow. Not sure how this is going to go, but I new it would turn into a huge ordeal!

Defiantly have it fixed right and let her insurance take care of it. Sounds like she might be trying to get you not to file so her rates will not go up. Good luck!

That's what I was thinking. If she doesn't make the call to her insurance company I will.
