Dana 44 & GM 14 Bolt

Today I finally Picked up the two axles that came with my 86 K20 when I bought it from my father almost a year ago. They laid behind a barn upside down with vent tube plugged for almost 10 years.

 

 

Front is a Dana 44 Spicer Stamped C-31256 with 4.10 Gears

 

When I opened the diff cover on this it was PERFECT inside...looked like it had just come out of a truck...not a sign of water anywhere gears looked good and everything moved freely.

 

Rear is a GM 14 Bolt Full Floater Stamped 3977232 4.10 gears

 

Unfortunately when I took the cover off the rear, it looks like water had been in them for years and heavy rust everywhere...

 

 

 

Is this worth cleaning up and saving or is just not worth it?
