I would without hesitation do 4.88s with 35s to 37s. I much preferred my truck with the 35" tire and 4.88 combo to the current 37" tire setup. You could go with 4.56 from 33s to 35s depending. But honestly for the op, if you stick with a true 33 and you currently have 3.73s I wouldn't worry about it. It really all depends on how you drive and what you want.

i had 285 70 17's which were 32.8" and are actually taller than "33's" which most come out to be 32.6". 305 70 17's are 33.98" tires (my terra grapplers) tags read 34x12.5-17. i know the 4.8's are turds, but mine really lacks whatever low end it used to have. if you guys think that a re gear for 34's is a waste. perhaps i will skip it over. wear out my 305's and put some 285 MT's on it...

so i opened up my glove box and found that i have a g80, which i already knew and that i also have 3.42 gears... now why would gm put 3.42s in a 4.8 and 3.73s in a 5.3? so someone with a 4.8 doesnt wax a 5.3 at a stop light?? haha

I have 3.23's in my truck with the 5.3, I'm hoping for 4.10's sometime next year.

I'd go 4.88 in your case.

Well you seem to know a lot about gearing so I will take your word on that. Any particular reason on why a 4.88 would be better over 4.56?
