I think the GMC will be the looker of the two. That Denali looks great.

The numbers are good(better than I was fearing, lol), but I think they could squeeze out a little more and not worry about marketing. A 445 HP truck is in no way going to upstage a Corvette.

I feel like they could have done more with the Denali. Other than the grill and dash it doesn't seem that much above the SLT.

Was hoping for more.

I feel like the Denali interior should be completley different(better) then the SLT.. the point of getting a Denali (IMO) is to have the best truck, not another plain old sierra with LED's and chrome things all ove it.

still is a great looking truck, glad GM kept it pretty conservative, looks great.

Exactly what I was thinking not much more than an slt. I bet the sticker is the real difference

As a lifelong GM guy and owner of an '02 SD I went to the dealer recently and test drove a 2012 SD, not impressed. Very light, hollow feeling to the truck, small (rusted) rotors in the rear, bouncy, noisy ride and a very long lag from when you hit the gas till the truck took off. The price tag, even with the discounts, was so high that you could find a Certifed Used, late model, high end Porsche or BMW or even Caddy for less money. In the days of Quadrasteer, ride control, and other deleted options and where the price was more in line with Pickup trucks instead of home mortgages, it may have been worth it. It looks like big motors and bling is what the Denali is all about today. I told the sales manager that the prices on the GMC's and the Buicks were rediculous and that's why we were the only customer in there while all the other dealers, especially the foreign ones, were crowded with customers. I still love GM vehicles but at these prices, low MPGs and with their stiil not so great reliability (and crappy dealers) I'll probably look elsewhere. Just IMHO...

Not sure I understand. Only time anyone has an excuse to pay MSRP is on something limited in production. As for fuel efficiency, GM has been a leader in that for ages (the last gen Impala even with the new, 305 HP V6 can get 30+ MPG, try that in a Honda or Toyota). We'll have to wait and see about reliability as essentially every car in the GM fold is new or at most 2-3 years old. I know dealer service is hit and miss but I've been nothing but happy with where I bring mine. Only part I won't like is when it comes time to buy a new one if I'm still in Michigan I'll have to pay sales tax which I don't like at all.

I love my 2010 Denali and will be buying a 14, I do a lot of highway travelling (approx 5,000 miles a month) now would I get better economy with the 3.08 rear end? or would that result in the engine never coming out of V8 mode at 65-70 mph?

I doubt there will be a worthwhile difference. Not that AFM makes any real world difference in the current configuration anyhow. If I get one of these trucks like I said in other threads I'll be ordering the Range AFM override module or getting it tuned.

I have a diablo programmer for my 2010, I purchased it to remove the speed governer, but I never saw any significant fuel economy improvement using it's advanced functions, mind you the 2010 6.2 did not have any AFM features, you say that the AFM makes no difference, but I took a new 2014 5.3 out for a 200 mile test the other day and when I was doing 55 it would kick into V4 mode and the economy would improve significantly

I meant AFM on the 900-series. Regardless it will be disabled if I buy a new GM truck. I want a V8, not a V8 that sometimes is a 4 cyl. I could care less about whatever minor gain AFM gets, if any.

So when can we expect to see Denali and High Country trucks on the lot? I expect about the same time we see 6.2 trucks???????

Thanks Ryan!

That is kind of what I thought............I am thinking High Country for my next truck.

Most of you likely won't believe this but I am recently retired (like last week) and thinking of downsizing the number of vehicles I have. Actually thinking of selling the Corvette! Not this year but maybe next year! I hardly ever drive it! My wife and I really like our little reg. cab short box for a daily driver, I guess now though my only daily driving is to go to Mc Dicks and hang old with the old dudes complaining about the Govt. full time! ahaha

So then I would just have two trucks!

This story sounds familiar! I'm actually just in the process of getting rid of my 2012 GT500 as I simply don't drive it enough. It sits in the garage gathering dust. So I picked up a 2010 Silverado LT 4x4 Regular Cab as a nice little daily driver and will replace my 2009 crew cab silverado with a 2014/2015 Sierra for longer road trips.

My neighbours are confused that I'm going from a truck and a sports car/muscle car (had a Z06 before the Mustang) to two trucks; a black crew cab and a bright red regular cab.

I just came back from my regular dealer.....getting truck serviced. The Denali trucks are going to have to be a hell of a lot nicer to be better than the SLT I was looking at today. The SLT I looked at seems to have all the features the old Denali's had.

And am starting to remember that I am not really a fan of the painted bumpers.

I really want a 6.2 though so I will have to wait but these 2014's are gorgeous!!!!!
