6" lift kit for 2006 Chevy

Recommended Posts

Since you have an 06, why not run a 35" tire on a 6"? Or, if you are just wanting a 33" tire, why run the 6" at all? You could get a 33 under there with just a body lift for 1/3 of what that 6" costs.

Just wondering.

I figured this question would come up. I know that almost all people who do the 6" lift run 35s (at least what I've seen). However, a main reason why I didn't want to do that was to avoid having to re-gear my truck (and hoping it wouldn't hurt my MPGs that much). Also, I have seen a white 2006 like mine with a 6" RCX kit with some 33s, and I thought it looked pretty good. Besides, I tend to favor having that extra space between the tire and the fender (whereas most people don't care for that).

Well, let me give you my personal experience. I ran 35s on my 05 (3" BL and 2" keys and AAL) with 3.42 gears, and on the right stretch of highway, I still got 16mpg. Most of the time I did get about 14.5. Then I switched to an 07 with 4.10 and 33s, and only get 13mpg.

I understand what your are getting at going with the 33s, but you would save yourself a ton of money just cranking the keys. I know a lot of guys around here that run a 33x12.50 with a little trimming and a torsion crank. If you stick with the factory wheels, your trimming will be even less.

I'll sell you my RCX lift off my truck. Im pretty sure I want to switch to a Mcgaughy's lift. Affordable and a true 7" lift

PS: Only been on the truck a year (if that), and would come with kicker braces as well
