Motor trend first drive of 2014 silverado

Recommended Posts

There are guys bragging on the Ford forums they got $12k off on the 2011's when they got the new motors. 2008-2010 were completely different years for everyone due to slow sales/economy, so all sorts of deals then. Particularly if you had cash.

These guys from I have been told are great for straight out pricing. http://www.fairwayford.us/

Though not much on buying trades.

On the GMC side, look these guys up. The actual buy it for price is posted & that I can verify as it is where I bought my truck. http://www.laurabuickgmc.com/ I asked back in April what their plan was once the 2014's roll out & their answer was volume. But

the specific deals are dependent upon what GM can or will do.

Must be good for them. Around here you have to pretty much get up and walk out multiple times at either brands dealership before they budge in the price range you want. The only exception is the dealer where I bought my last two trucks from. Every other GM dealer here wants to walk all over you, and treat you like a moron, and the Ford dealers won't budge all that much on price. I don't even bother with them anymore I just go to my dealer, and get what I want without having to promise someone my liver or kidney to get it.

Many folks out there used to take pride in being able to haggle with their dealers to get lower prices, but I myself have seen a big decline in dealers willing to haggle prices, they are not afraid to see someone go walk out because they know someone else will come walk in that will take the truck for the price that the dealer wants. It's a change I think we will be seing more and more of. What do you think?

36K for a brand new '13 Crew Cab SLT with the 6.2, not too bad at all.

Most dealers here will come off about 3- 4 plus rebates if you are willing to do the haggling. I usually don't try to haggle that much. I wait for a good rebate or a GM card promo.

I was one of the first locals to buy the 900 Chevy here in march of 2007. GM had a good inventive at the time on the new trucks, which surprised me. Hope the same happens this time.
