Will you be test driving the HD's before they're released?

I hope to! Depends on if Chevrolet is kind enough to invite me to do so in the future.

So did GM finally get rid of 2wd Z71's? Cause none of the badges or stickers on the bed mention 4wd. I never liked the idea of 2wd z71's so this would not bother me.

Yes and any of my impressions would be applicable for both as well.

My comment was in response to the notion that Chevrolet was more "customer" focused and that they do more market research.

If that was indeed the case, then GMC must either be really lucky or especially intuitive as to how Chevrolet is designing their pickups because they sure seem to be coming out of the factories looking like a mirror image of one another.

I like the trucks. That said these are the ugliest Z71 decals since the 2000 model. The GMC Z71 decal on the fender is great though. The Chevy one in the grille would be cool if it added 4X4 to it and looked better.

The 20 inch Chevy rims are nasty ugly, while the 20 inch GMC wheels are much as attractive as any. I prefer the Chevy front end by far.

The interior is also growing on me. Can't wait for the first one to hit the lots.

I am curious about rear seat leg room on the crew compared to a current F150. Also how is the power of the 5.3 while normal driving and towing compared to the current one? Did the test drive trucks have 87 octane or E85?

Does the center console lock? On the bucket seats I mean. It would nice if it did.

The end product may be very similar but what is being discussed is how the companies differ in their approach to media. Ford has been doing the same thing, courting influential bloggers who aren't associated with the auto industry to write about their cars. I don't get it but I also have little use for that type of writer. But I'm also not the average buyer as my main concern when buying is getting as much power I can afford without much in the way of options. My truck is mid-line and that's all I'd ever want. I also care so little about fuel economy it's almost not looked at. Not gonna lie, I have toyed with the next truck being a fairly bare bones Super Duty with the 6.2 and the lowest gears possible (4.30:1). 400 horsepower, solid axles and you can do 35s easily. Granted at that point the truck is so heavy it may not be terribly quick but part of it is that chances are our days are numbered for how much longer these wonderful big V8s will be around. I just hope Chevy isn't as stupid as GMC and allows the 6.2 on mid line trim levels cause right now GMC will only let you have it on SLT trucks and I assume the upcoming high trim stuff.

I am with MikeNH give me a mid-line optioned truck with the 6.2 a 4.10 or 4.30 gear. Sad that the only 6.2's that I have been able to find are the high end truck's. To much fluff on them for me.
