are they going to offer a plow prep package?

It's not just spring ratings. Axle ratings also come into play.

The weight capacity available for a plow on the reg cab is probably used up by the extra cab weight on the double and crew cabs. The front axle ratings in the spec list are higher for the 4wd's, but seem to be the same for all cab types (3950lb). Spring and axle ratings for the 2wd's vary with cab type.

The bigger truck (double and crew cabs) might have different springs (sizes) but are they made for the additional weight of the plow etc.? The dealers around here don't recommend plowing with bigger trucks. I don't plow so I am new to this as well. I get the snow plow package for resale because they always need a plow truck in CT. Someone will buy it if it is in great condition.

Dealers opinion doesn't mean a thing- GM, Ford and Ram will all tell you not to plow unless the truck has the prep pkg. There's at least one member here who's done it anyway without issue but it's anyone's guess how it'll do long term. Myself if I get a reg cab I just want it so I can repurpose the light switch as a factory 30 amp power source for additional lights.
