First official 2014 Silverado & Sierra specs - 355hp 5.3L

The diesel (if any) will not be a powerhouse- it'll be a MPG getter. Like I said earlier the diesel in the Ram will be a slug. Anyone hoping on a 1500 with Duramax-like grunt is gonna be sad with whatever is offered.

I agree Mike about the probability that it will be like Ram's option. They could do more though. I'm guessing this whole DEF and particulate filtration has slimmed the possibility of a light duty diesel with power.

Until the aftermarket steps up to the plate, but it'll still be very risky to do anything to them while under warranty.

The Goodyear SRA should be against the law to brand as an AT tire. Why not call it what it is and just say low rolling resistance P metric rip offs. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Off-the-lot tires shouldn't be a worry, just swap them out as soon as possible. As long as the actual truck is a good package then stuff like this shouldn't be a worry to us who are real truck guys. It's the people who buy these to just ride around that won't worry about POS tires that come with the truck, and that's why manufacturers can get away with it.

And something that's odd is how there's no difference in ride height between 2WD and 4WD, at least in the online configurator (that sucks btw).

I agree with what is stated about 2 and 4wd ride height differences should be significant.

I have a problem with a truck with a P metric tire that the maker thinks its fine to tow the payload GM is claiming is possible here. Near 2500 class towing on a may-pop. With an ATV in the back mine on the factory crappers swayed and squatted pretty bad. Not safe.

I'm not asking for Baja tires. Just load appropriate. Most will never meet half the limitations, while others will nearly exede them, if only occasionally.

The tire specs and everything in between is what happens when the manufacturers want to please everyone. But at least we can change out the tires as we please, so as long as the chassis and everything that's not easily replaceable is good we have a decent package.

It's important to educate the consumers on what is for what (tire load specs, etc), and how trucks should be used.
