No joke, 2014 5.3L Specs will be released today at 11am eastern

Although today is April fools day, I've just got word that we will finally get *some* of the 2014 truck specs today at 11am eastern. This is not a joke.. this is serious.

 

Here's part of the the note I've just received

"Chevrolet and GMC will release base pricing, EPA fuel economy estimates, and other performance data for the 2014 Silverado and Sierra at 11 a.m. EDT Monday, April 1. This information covers pickups with the all-new 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V-8, our mainstream engine, which is expected to power more than three out of every four of the trucks."

 

What about the 4.3L and 6.2L? I have no idea. We'll see what happens at 11am.

There will be a conference call after the announcement and this is the description for that call:

"Announcements for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickups, including SAE horsepower certification, EPA fuel economy estimates and base pricing."

well some is better than none. Based on what the 5.3. is at will pretty much determine if we are gonna be happy with the rest anyway.

The specifications
were previously supposed to be out by the end of March, but officials told
MLive.com that March didn’t work due to scheduling conflicts. The trucks,
according to GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson last month, continue to be on track.

“There’s not any delay,
but there’s not any reason to short-cut anything,” he told MLive.com. “We’re on schedule.”
