Do a 6" lift and you'll be happy with it. You can level your truck and fit 33's (barely, but they will). But if your looking for height do a 6". And as far as towing goes, you should be fine. I tow, but not as much as you do, but if you have trailer brakes you'll be good.

 

And as for the front end components, it will wear them out quicker, but the companies that make lifts try to keep the factory angles in order to reduce front end wear

I went with what i could afford at the time, and I also had a child on the way. it turns out we never take my truck anywhere. so now im looking at going higher.

I went with RCX 4.75" lift and am looking to swap out the 1.25" BL for a 3" BL to make my lift a 6.5".

 

you will be happy with the 4" for a little while, and then you will get the urge to go up.

take a look at the new 2500HD's they are basically a 1/2 ton with a 4" lift. Atleast thats what im seeing when my Sierra is parked next to my dads HD. might be a little higher in the front but a little less in the rear with RC 4.75" lift
