F350

My buddy just got a new f350. He has had a few always buys new. Always diesel always full load.

This one is damn nice black on black.

Anyways he has this thing in the gauge cluster it is almost like a computer has truck apps too. I couldn't believe the options on it. Has a 4x4 app tells you the grades you are on where your tires are at turning wise and what not. Air condition seats 12v plugs out the ying yang. The 6.7 is a beast as well.

I still will probably go with a new GM truck in the next year or 2 because that's all we got at work.

Has he had it long enough to find out what fuel mileage or how long between urea fill ups? As nice as they are on the inside, I hate the SD front end. JMO but :puke:

And people these days, thinking guages can replace driving by feel

Yeah Ford has been doing that with lots of vehicles lately. Not sure I like it. There was a similar interface on a Fusion I had as a rental recently and it was a pain to navigate. Though the cool stuff the truck version has might offset it.

Well, I drive a 2011 F350 for work every day.

Don't have all the bells and whistles in it like the small screen in your pic.

I actually like the 6.7L. Strong as hell.

Ok, I've got only 31000km down yet.

But one thing is for sure. It is a way better engine than the 6.4L in the 2008 I've driven before.

I do not like the 6 speed. I don't even know if it is an Allison. It is acting nervous at one point and 10 min later it stays to long in one gear.

And he is bouncy. Vancouver streets are the worst of all I know of.

But in this truck it's like riding a bike on a dirt road.

so long

Have always liked the SD's appearance here, but after seeing the cabs up on a lift separated from the truck to work on the motor will always keep me away from them.
my friend traded his 08 because "it was always something" he had a rear seal leak the dealer said cab removal is the only way. Now he has this one. He always gets rid of his Ford when it gets around 100,000km. This one is the nicest so far.

Me on the other hand I do my own work and drive vehicles to death

I'm still having trouble wrapping my brain around the concept and emphasis on user displays and interfaces in newer vehicles, what with all the emphasis on the concept of distracted driving.

Shhh, don't tell anyone the very cars people drive distract them...they're already too busy driving with their knees, playing on their phones, smoking a cigarette and eating lunch...at the same time.

Back on topic: They is a nice lay out on the dash. I really like that blue color to the needles. We used F350 (bobtails) at work, we have '01s, '03s, and '07s. Unfortunately some of our heavier equipment they struggle a bit, but they do get the job done.
