Where is everyones tax return going?

If you are getting a refund, you have failed. Why give the goberment a free no interest loan that you might not get repaid in a timely manner?

I agree with this, I was not expecting a refund. The past few years I've always been like $40 in either direction. I don't know why it happened, I didn't think moving and paying a state income tax (NH has none) would change things but I guess it did.

Long ago, when I was a self contractor, I put the money aside and paid at EOY. Once employed, I just let payroll folks figure it out. I always get a refund, which is fine. Worrying about pennies lost in "interest" is a fools game.

Edit: not calling anyone a fool! just a figure of speech...

Sorry about my part in that, but enough is enough. The world is full of hate and anger, this forum doesn't need to be. Back on topic. Hoping to get either a new bed or couch, whichever the wife wants, of course.

Agreed! I didnt start this topic to try and into political chit chat...Just seeing where everyone put their money if they got a refund....

If I may be so blatant as to call someone out and get warning points, why is this guy ^ always bashing everyone and puking his hatred down people's throats? I get a small refund because I don't want to owe and I guess I can't get my deductions just perfect like the yoo hoo above me. Besides, I live in the greatest freakin' country in the world, so if Uncle Sam wants to borrow money from me for a year I'm okay with that. Yes, I know, get it every week and put it in savings earning interest. Right. With a wife and eleven year old in tae kwon do, guitar, violin, swimming, dance and gymnastics I always have extra for savings. I guess that makes me a "failure".

Just ignore the troll. It's just Won being Won

All I have to say is that this forum is starting to go downhill with all of the trolling. :(

This will be first year I haven't had to pay in in over 8 years. So thanks to my daughter being born last year, we are getting a relatively small amount back but never the less it will be paid torward some debt we owe.

That's great. I wasn't saying it's a bad idea to manage taxes to your benefit, only that worrying about it is (for most folks, including me).
