Leaf Helper Opinions

Recommended Posts

I've been looking into several options for add a leafs, over load springs, etc. For the money I found the Superior 11-1020 Leaf Helper kit. Does any have any experience with this kit? Does it help, hurt, nothing? Is it worth buying or am I wasting my time. It looks easy enough to install and being adjustable I think would be great for the differing weights that you may haul in your truck. I don't care about lift just would like something to give the rear from sagging underloaded conditions.

All opinions, suggestions welcome.

The superior springs are garbage. I sold them for a while and had to double them up to work well.

IF you only need them for a certain haul... then they would work and be the least expensive. Do they last? Nope. They settle after about a year.

Ill

Dumb question.....If you use helper springs or air bags to help carry a load...or an overload....will that stress out other areas ???....I always thought that loading to the bump stops is a good indication that you are maxed out, and spring helpers or air bags will keep things level, but will give a false feeling of "yeah, it can take more wieght"

I just installed some a few weeks ago in my 07, they just go where the bump stops did so they don't stress anything really anymore than it'd already be stressed if you loaded the truck. As far as "It can take more weight"... Not really because then you have to inflate the bags, they don't stay rigid. You'll still see the ride drop.
