Dealer has my truck again so I rented a car. With the upgraded loyalty level that my CC provides with national I was able to choose from a line of vehicles. Chose this 2019 Ram. Looked at the F150 they had since it was the crew cab but the interior wasn't new and fancy looking compared to the Ram. If I'm going to rent I might as well see what all the fuss is about with all this tech crap. Saw some Silverados farther down the line that I didn't know they were there until I drove past them on the way out. Probably wouldn't have taken one of them anyway.

660ish on the odometer when I drove it out of the parking garage Friday morning. It's probably at around 1500 now. It rides great, can't feel how fast I'm going. 50-100mph sprints are a breeze to do. I think it's a longhorn edition/trim. Seats are comfortable. I like how the center console is set up too. Huge screen that I really haven't used all that much yet. Exhaust note is quiet, but hammering the throttle makes it sound off a little. Obviously no where near the loud and obnoxious of my previous 6.0s with glass packs.

I don't like how it still has halogen bulbs everywhere. Big change from my stupid bright LEDs I have on my dually inside and out. ce40461232b40ebfcbb367828f18d439.jpg

Interior lighting in the current Camaro's is abysmal. They have these tiny permanent led's in the front and nothing in back.  The accent lighting in my 2SS is brighter than the map lights

Took the Ram on a trip through George Washington national park today. Bunch of Rocky, muddy, and some cases snowy roads. Some amazing views to be had. Even saw whatever NSA place is out here from a distance. Crossed into and out of West Virginia quite a few times. Got chilly, 35F according to the truck. So probably 20s with wind chill. No 4WD needed. Would have been fun squeezing my dually through some of the places we ended up. Lots of people camping, I'm assuming majority were hunters. edddf323f1ca32f66489de26cc79f4a1.jpg

Made a run to Lowe's yesterday, as I was coming out to the truck a dad and his twin 6-7 year old sons were walking by when I unlocked the truck and one looks at dad and says "that's a pretty truck", dad says yes and other son says "pretty mean looking" so I told them thanks.  It makes you feel good when someone says something nice about the pig!!!  :jester:

Been able to keep the thread clean, only posts pertaining to the topic, so linking here for people to join in rather than a bump. It's been a while, few tens of thousands of members join since it died out.

Admins:

Is there a way to unlock editing for that particular thread even though it's way past the deadline, so people don't have to make new posts....

If I wanted to get a hold of GM corporate or someone above the dealership level what would be the best way to do so?  9+ weeks without my truck is beyond ridiculous.  Apparently it's the dealer and the drive line shop getting into about whether or not the drive shaft is good.  Solution would be to get a new drive shaft except GM doesn't make them anymore and the dealership doesn't trust the shop they're using to make a new drive shaft...

My co worker had his 2016 in the shop for 3 months waiting for a wheel bearing. He was driving a Cruze with a Monroney for a month or two.

Yet dealerships wonder why they have such a bad reputation lol

A driveline shop will have a balancer and can quickly determine whether or not its good and if not, what's wrong with it.  AAM made the axles and driveshafts, parts can still be acquired from them or Spicer.

If it were my truck, after a week I would have pulled it and had the thing fixed myself.  There are plenty of shops around that can do the work.

Unfortunately I'm dumb and the shop they're using to work on the drive shaft is the same shop I would have taken it to on my own.  It was recommended to me by a few people who had their drive shafts made there.
