Hell I don’t want to see my credit card bill after this trip ends. DoD will reimburse, but 18 days of hotel, rental, round trip flight, meals, gas... probably over $3,000.

Nice chunk of points/cash back depending on what card you have.

Neither. The Citi Travel Card made for govt employees. It’s issued by work. Yet I’m responsible for making sure it’s paid. I tried to only put the big things on it, flight, car, hotel, gas. Meals came from my debit card. I do need to call American so I can get my points for my flight to go towards my super platinum golden admiral thing.

Another office in my area had the feds show up for a guy who was using his gov card for personal gas. He asked him why they thought that, they asnwered, "because you are buying more gas at the pump than the truck can hold".  Idiot was bringing gas cans and filling them up thinking no one would notice.

Mine isn’t always active. It only gets activated when hard orders get cut.

Good tip SnakeEyeSS. They will all leak exactly like this if you live in the salt belt after about 6 years, give or take - even the aluminum ones. This is assuming  you've got a 21st Century vehicle that puts the spare right outside in the elements. Our '86 Grand Marquis doesn't have this problem, since it's in the trunk, out of the weather ... where it SHOULD be.

This is just plain old Windex sprayed around the rim/bead area. It's a crappy glass cleaner, but a hell of a leak detector. :)

So, he's saying it's undriveable. Never titled and probably never moved since the 30 day tag expired. Besides asking a comical amount(one in similar condition that was titled sold a few years ago at an auction around here for a quarter of that)

Imagine you are at an intersection, and making a legal left turn. Blinker on, no oncoming traffic, doing it as you should.

Now halfway into your turn you get hit from behind.

Now Imagine the police show up, and tell you YOU are at fault, because you didn't yield to the driver BEHIND YOU, who even drove onto the wrong side of the road because they were trying to pass the turning vehicle.

That happened to a coworker. The cop then sites a law that says you must yield to oncoming traffic.(the law specifically says to yield to traffic from the opposite direction, which, "duh"). Cop thinks the same direction and opposite direction are the same thing. Yikes.

Good news for you, this police department is nowhere near either. Although there was an incident a few years ago where an off duty OKC PD officer got in a fight at a strip club, lost, and retaliated with a drive by shooting. Yeah, that was interesting story to follow.

Looks like I've got an Old Tahoe here - not sure if GM built this one, though ...  Rot gut!

Dealer has my truck again so I rented a car. With the upgraded loyalty level that my CC provides with national I was able to choose from a line of vehicles. Chose this 2019 Ram. Looked at the F150 they had since it was the crew cab but the interior wasn't new and fancy looking compared to the Ram. If I'm going to rent I might as well see what all the fuss is about with all this tech crap. Saw some Silverados farther down the line that I didn't know they were there until I drove past them on the way out. Probably wouldn't have taken one of them anyway.

660ish on the odometer when I drove it out of the parking garage Friday morning. It's probably at around 1500 now. It rides great, can't feel how fast I'm going. 50-100mph sprints are a breeze to do. I think it's a longhorn edition/trim. Seats are comfortable. I like how the center console is set up too. Huge screen that I really haven't used all that much yet. Exhaust note is quiet, but hammering the throttle makes it sound off a little. Obviously no where near the loud and obnoxious of my previous 6.0s with glass packs.

I don't like how it still has halogen bulbs everywhere. Big change from my stupid bright LEDs I have on my dually inside and out. Safety features are dumb and annoying. Easy to turn off front/rear parking sensors with switches on the dash. It feels smaller inside than my 2009. It is dimension wise because it's a double cab vs my crew, but the dash is huge and the windshield is smaller. I think that's why it feels smaller from my perspective. Gas mileage is worse than I thought. High 16s on one tank and low 17s on the next. I expected better considering I can do 13-14 with my truck. Fuel range is also less with the smaller tank. Same trip last year I only had to fill up once and used a tank and a half. Had to fill up twice and both times the low fuel light was on with the Ram. I hate the mirrors, useless for backing. I don't care if it has a backup camera I still use my mirrors. Then again I think I hate all non tow mirrors including GM's. I also don't like how there is only 1 12v plug that I can find so far AND it's not always on so I ended up using a battery pack on my dash cam. It has USB-C (2) and the older USB ports (3). They work except every time I plug my phone in android wants me to install android auto, which I don't really want. Ended up using another battery pack on my phone too.

Not really a pro or con, just different is the steering. It's so light and sensitive. I know the truck is probably a couple thousand pounds lighter and the front end is considerably lighter as well, just something I'm not used to.

While I'd much rather have my truck, I definitely missed my air horns, overall this Ram is pretty nice. ce40461232b40ebfcbb367828f18d439.jpg

My ol' man has a '19 too, but with LED lights everywhere, including the headlights - they are FACE-MELTING BRIGHT!! I thought my '07 Silverado had the best headlights on the planet ... until I rode in this thing at night. Also has cornering lamps like my 1st Grand Marquis did. It's like a second headlamp on the front fender that comes on whenever the headlights are on and a turn signal is activated. Brightest ones I've EVER seen.

He's got all the safety stuff, too - yeah, super annoying, but a lot of it can be turned off. He has the thing set so every road we turn onto, the stupid thing says, "The speed limit is xx miles per hour". That drove me nuts the first 2 times I heard it. Any trip I take with him I hear it HUNDREDS of times ...

The radar in the taillights is great for him though. We were backing out of a spot at a cheese factory in Amish country in OH, and something starts beeping like crazy - it picked up a car that was FLYING through the lot at like 45 MPH - he was a ways out, too. Plenty of time to stop and assess. My dad's turning 78 this year - the past 5 years his senses have really gone to hell. He'd have missed that car, no question about it. The backup sensors will go nuts if you approach a curb more than 3" high, though, and will slam the brakes on you! Won't be able to move! I had to really look around at the dash while we looked like morons - there's an override button just under the big display in the center. That let us back into the spot

The yellow light that comes on in the mirror with every vehicle you pass is super annoying too. I guess we're the only people left that still use mirrors ...

All I need for options is a couple cigarette lighters, A/C, and power windows and locks. I can do without everything else!
