Wow ... I can't even believe they're pulling that crap. Basically rendering the tranny unserviceable to 99% of owners.

 

Yet another reason of many why I'll never own anything ever again built after 1995.

Yep. Had to take the Ex Wife's to the dealer for a fluid change. $200 total. Gotta do it with mine soon too.

5w30 for your gmc

5w20 for the Ford

0w20 for... Kia or Benz?

Kia and fords take 5w20. Rover, GMC and Rainier take 5w30, friends corolla takes 0w20

Really surprised the Kia takes 5w20.

Regularly changed 0w20 makes for a clean engine. My wife's corolla looked pristine under the oil cap after 75k when we sold it. Really should have kept that car as a driver. Nothing special, but rock solid and silver so always looked clean.

Really surprised the Kia takes 5w20.

May be 0w20, but i think dealer invoice says 5w20. But it doesnt hurt to have different oils in stock
