Reading about my work's medical retirement. What I don't get is they request all your medical records, then someone with no medical training reviews the case. (They even require doctors to explain the problem in detail) so how the heck will the reviewer even know what the tests show.

How many gallons are left in the tank when the low fuel light turns on? This isn't new but I have noticed that when I'm pretty low on fuel and I happen to put the truck in neutral the light turns on, then turns off later. And at that point it's a line or two from the empty.

Last week when I came back from Pittsburgh mine turned on. Filled up a few miles later. Used 23.2 gallons

That's interesting, I don't recall ever being able to fill up past 21.x gallons. Must be a difference between the 800 and 900's.

Has anyone noticed how the exhaust from the left bank is routed right behind the transmission oil pan? I bet it doesn't do the transmission any favors by having a heat source a few inches away. When I have some extra cash to throw away I just might buy a clamp-on heat shield for the exhaust.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, and maybe I'll do the same just because I can. I'm wondering how much it actually affects anything though since the air under the truck while it's moving helps to keep the heat from that part of the pipe off of the pan.

Have yet to have an issue and it is still done that way, so that should say something Edited by Daryl Z71

Yea, I think if it did do anything it would only amount to an extra few degrees anyhow.

Poroper cooling is good. I put a Tru-Cool Max 40k in the F150 a few days ago. It is a 2011 with a 5.0, but like the 2014 and newer GM pickups, it has a thermostat for the trans fluid. It managed to drop towing temps by 25-30 degrees with 7,500 lbs

I want to add a better cooler and lines to mine at some point. Especially being that more than likely I'll be moving farther south after the next few years.
