The sheriff's dept here is phasing out the impala for whatever the Ford suv is. Buddy can't wait to get one of those things. As far as unmarked everything with wheels is a possibility here.

Reading all these torque comments last few days makes me wonder how I haven't had any problems. When I've done it myself I almost always do my lug nuts on or off by hand using whatever those X wrenches are called. No air tools, no torque wrench. If it doesn't budge I stand on the wrench and it moves, I tighten until it's snug and then give it a little oomph to be sure.

Okaloosa County, Florida has a GMT900 Escalade and C6 Vette as unmarked.

So cable tech is here doing the same thing I have done for the last three days. Hope he gets different results or knows a key word that will trigger a fix at/with their service center/team.

Edit: I was right, it was their provided tuning adaptor.

Soo I noticed a single pretty loud clank/clunk while making a right hand turn yesterday on the way home. This morning while pulling out of my parking spot I heard it again, and also as soon as I went over a speed bump. I believe it only happened when turning right and as far as I can tell its coming from the front end.

Tie rod ends? Control arm?

I ended up just parking her and driving the car to work...

Could be ball joints or shock mounts.

Seeing you're in AZ, I'd bet the shocks and ball joints are OEM originals in there still. Up here '00 models are on their 8th or 10th set, LOL.

I know how rubber deteriorates there, so Shock mounts would be the first place I'd look. IF that checks out, jack it up by the lower control arm, and do the wiggle test - 12 & 6, 3 & 9, 2 & 7.

I will check the strut mounts even though i installed these new bilsteins last summer and didn't notice anything wrong. And I did replace the left tie rod end 5 or 6 years ago, so if the sound is coming from the right this might be why.

And yes, unfortunately most of the front end is still original except for the hub bearings, left tie rod end, and shocks/struts. #sloppyseconds

I'm just glad that it wasn't the differential, that was the first thing that came to mind and I almost soiled my trousers. lol

And the truck is 2WD btw, i have this info in my sig but I know that tapatalk doesn't display it.

I saw your sig - I'm not quite sure what Tapatalk even is, so you're safe.

Since it's 2wd, the pitman & idler arms should be checked along with the tie-rods, if you suspect the other tie -rod is bad.

In all honesty I suspect the entire front end to be bad so I don't even know where to begin. Maybe a gofundme account??

I order all moog stuff through rockauto.com, did a complete front end rebuild (besides hub bearings) on my 02 about this time last year for just a hair over 400. New tie rod inners, upper and lower ball joints, pitman and idler arms, as well as the idler bracket assembly. Reused the lift kits specific outer tie rods. Figured for 400 I did pretty good

Your rebuild didn't include the lower and upper control arms with bushings?

Never have replaced the arms themselves bc I have a press and do all my own work so I save about 300 doing that. And the bushings I replaced a while back during my first front end rebuild when I used store brand parts. Went with polyurethane bushings from energy suspension. Made the ride a bit rougher but made the truck handle great! That kit also came with new shock mount bushings as well
