This is Tony. I'm new to GM Trucks.com. I purchased my first truck two months ago, so I'm new to the truck scene. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 5.3 V8 2 wheel drive. I love it. I'm hooked on trucks now! I want to start customizing it. I've already installed a cold air intake that makes it sound badass. Next I want to install a new exhaust system on it. I want to install dual tail pipes when I have it done. I was told by a reputable truck mechanic that he could install them but would not recommend installing dual tale pipes my truck. He says that the driver side tail pipe sooner or later always has problems either the pipe cracks, and or falls off. I really like the look of the dual tail pipes. I'm still learning about customizing trucks. does anyone have any advise the can give me? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Tony

Look at out of box systems like Corsa, Borla, or MBRP for that. A quality T-304 Stainless Steel wont have issues

Went out to the shop a minute ago with plans to put the LED lights on the golfcart. After looking at it it just has me wondering how in the world my dad managed to put the ones on there that are already on it all those years ago, and how they still work.

I'm thinking about taking the entire front clip off, and just rewiring the whole thing since all the wiring is old and the wiring actually has battery acid inbetween the copper.

I just don't wanna do all that right now. I really want to work on my truck and get my LED reverse lights in, but I'm waiting on a wire harness from iamparts or gmpd or.. whoever I ordered it from. That could take weeks!

Guess I'll spend the weekend on yard work then.. place is starting to look like a jungle after only 2 weeks.

aaand installed.

Got bored, my wrenching fingers were itching. Had to do SOMETHING.

They work really good for $23 lights!

Problem is my old 36 volt golf cart has trouble moving and running them at the same time. They dim BIG TIME under load. I need to get like a helper battery or something just for the lights I guess.

OH.. this is where I got em if anyone's interested:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GLLW3AM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought 3 sets. Originally I was gonna put 2 on the golfcart (one front, one rear, for work lights.) and 1 set for backup lights on my truck.

Now I'm thinking I may put a set in my trucks grill and just leave the cart with one for now. I'm not sure how much middle of the night yard work I need to do that I need a 1500 lumen cargo lamp for a golf cart.

I've had 3 people email me about my lifted truck already, it's been on craigslist for 36 hours lol. So I went ahead and cleaned her up yesterday getting it ready to show to a guy Sunday. BUT, in the middle of cleaning it I started realizing how much fun and how many good times I've had in that truck with all my friends and such. Safe to say I'm not sure if I want to sell it now or not lol

When the money is in your hand you'll feel a bit better, once the money is spent on other things.. you'll feel bad and say "I shouldn't have sold that truck!"

I regret selling a number of my previous vehicles.. my 88 gmc, my 2000 z28 my 2005 subaru, my 2007 corvette..

I DONT regret selling my 2005 silverado, 2010 sierra, and honestly my 2012 camaro. I loved my camaro but.. I really love my truck right now and don't feel that bad about that car being in a happy home elsewhere.

Trading in my Silverado tonight. Don't shoot me, I'm buying an 08 4Runner SR5 4x4 with the 4L V6. My wife wants a cheaper on gas vehicle and I want a 4 wheel drive.

darkfox is the only person I've seen on this board who doesn't miss their GMT800

Oh I really do miss my 2003 GMT-800, just not my 2005. The 2005 had something wrong with it. It was a nice loaded truck but it was a pig and would absolutely struggle to keep up on the interstate. I mean I'd get awful gas mileage on I-20 between ATL and AUG because the truck would downshift and just stay there.. It couldn't maintain 75mph, even in 3rd gear.

I love all GM truck body styles 67-current. If I won the lotto I'd have AT LEAST one of each..

You're gonna feel cramped in that little 4runner.

Toyota's fairly reliable though. I'm not gonna knock em. Just not my thing. I dont know anything about OHC motors, nor do I care to really.

A vehicle like that for me would be lilke sitting down at a mac and expecting to work on it like I do a PC.

I'm by FAR not an expert on GM vehicles, but I've had and worked on enough LSx motors that owning one makes me feel comfortable that I can face most challenges that develop from it.

I mean I know my aftermarket vendors, I know how GM does stuff, familiar with GM parts vendors online, locations around town, part number syntax etc.

I guess it takes me out of my "comfort zone" to be in another manufacturer if nothing else.

I understand 4x4, but doubt fuel economy will be much better.

shhhhh don't tell her that. That's the only reason I'm not stuck buying a CRV. "fuel economy" is for her. I can afford the gas with no problem. We don't really need a truck anymore, but I refuse to buy a car. SUV or nothing.
