I watched the top gear with the BMW i8 last night. From what they showed, it seemed like a quality car. But at the end, he said he got 31?! Mpg?!

 

I can't think of a compact car that isn't able to do that. And then you have the little diesels that do 40+!

Found a motor I'll be picking up on Thursday morning. $1300 for an L33 with 75k miles. The one with 63k miles for $1000 was sold so this one is the best option out of what was left that I could find.

 

I'll be ordering, headers, water pump, oil pump, ac compressor, power steering pump, etc to put on the new motor.

The L33 has a decent cam already. Pretty worthless to cam that engine without a bunch of supporting mods.

The cam that is in that engine is clost to max on the factory stall. It isnt like the cam in your 5.3 where it is weak and has room to grow. If i remember right the cam in that is from something like an LS1 and not far off from the LS6 cam

That's all it got?!? 31mpg? My cruze is averaging 33

My 13 equinox gets like 19 highway. I did a 0-60 yesterday with TC and stibilitrac off in 6.6 seconds thats prolly why i get poor fuel eco in it. But hey i still have 40K miles of warranty left so why not blow the engine! [emoji4][emoji4]
