Just gave into the peer pressure and actually signed up on Facebook. Guess I'm like 5 years late lol

Sent while drinkin' a cold one...

I had it for about a year and one day realized 95% of the people I was friends with I was never gonna see again or didn't want to see so I shut it down, been Facebook free for about 3 or 4 years now. I have alot more free time now. Lol.

I was gettingt the abs and break lights on the dash very seldomly but now its on a very regular basis. From what I've researched it should be the abs sensor but it I'll get the codes scanned today after work if they're on.

Is the abs sensor on the abs module or somewhere else? I only get those lights when I tow a trailer

I dont know what goes where just yet. And I didn't get anything scanned today since coming home I didn't have any lights on.

Hopefully its an easy fix.

If they pop on once normally the codes are stored until erased. Someone told me that so don't hold me to it haha but it makes sense

Yes, some vehicles might have a time or code list limit, not sure.

How does detuned equal better responsiveness?

My guess is pushing the torque curve back to lower RPMs, but I have NEVER heard of a review of Any of the Korean Twins 2.0 Turbos stating it has low end issues.

In fact, with the 10 mpg gain over my car with similar power, albeit slightly slower acceleration, I was interested in them a few years ago.

I'm wondering if it's really for MPG, and life span. They are probably having to lighten the motor for less friction for the fuel economy standards, and so they have to dial it back.

Weird. I was building a KIA Optima Turbo last week and they look really slick and I like the inside. I also heard that the KIA trannys didn't last long not sure if that's true or not

I worked at a Hyundai dealership (they're the same cars underneath- Kia is owned by Hyundai) before and the transmissions on the cars prior to the 100k warranty weren't great but all the guys who were there when the warranty first started said it was like a switch was thrown after- things improved almost overnight it seemed like. I will say that the ones I saw (04-07) some didn't put up with abuse well- seen a few where someone either was doing burnouts or got stuck in snow and just gunned it. Best I could figure the pin that held the spider gears in the diff would have it's retainer fail and it would pop out partially and then parts would fly.
