I ride a "crotch rocket" and have for a lot of years, I do like to go fast, stand it up on the back wheel, etc but there is a time and a place for it. I also ride a Harley Street Glide so if I have both which class do I fal in or is it anyone who rides a bike is an idiot? I do have over 100,000 miles on the seat of a "crotch rocket" never once have I laid one down, been in an accident, been pulled over, I have had some close calls with idiots in cars/trucks running red lights, changing lanes with out looking, etc but that must have been all my fault, ya know because "crotch rocket" riders are all idiots

Exactly what he said.

I have almost the same experience as you, although no bike anymore. My feelings are the same.

In Dallas there can be one street bike wreck a day, my grandad calls them donor bikes. You'll see them pulling onto the concrete median and hauling. In the same way not all people with a 4x4 go tearing up people's fields, not all people with sportbikes have a death wish though.

I'd suggest you work on your reading comprehension. Go read my reply again and then you should be able to answer your own questions.

I'll take that into condideration, however you posted while I was typing and I had not read what you wrote prior to putting in my reply. Did you comprehend that OK?

You guys may want to really watch some things you say on a public board. My best friend died on a sportbike 3 years ago. I don't dissagree that they are insanely dangerous when rode aggressively but have some damn sympathy. Jesus

EDIT: I suppose I should state that he hit a deer at a high rate of speed on an open back road in the country. I can't blame him too much as I think we all open up our vehicles every once in awhile when nobody is around and it's out away from others.

That excuse sounds great but I posted an hour and forty minutes before you did. :dunno: Maybe you are just a slow typer.

Anyway, there's no reason to be militant about anything, I was just pointing out that I didn't call everyone on a bike an idiot, just the ones who do the shit that was being done in that video. There is no defending what those idiots were doing, in shorts and t-shirts, no less.

Why? Who cares if it's a public board? Those guys in that video were being idiots, plain and simple.

I've had friends die on motorcycles. They weren't at fault, they both got hit head-on in their own lane by cars crossing the center line. That doesn't mean that guys weaving in and out of traffic and doing 100+ on their bikes aren't idiots.

So you are going to sit there and tell me you have never done anything dumb in a vehicle? Give me a break. I don't dissagree with you one bit but don't act like you are the perfect human being. I would bet that you have done several things that should have killed you but hey, you are still here calling others idiots.

EDIT: Forget this crap. This is just another thread of who can stick their chest out and blow the most hot air. I'm out...

Wut?

Chest out, hot air, acting like a perfect human being?

Overreact much?

As for things that should have killed me - Yeah, probably so. Putting every other driver on the stretch of road in danger with absolute disregard - no.

Not that it matters but yes I started to type my resonse, then got side tracked and didn't finish till later. So as I said stop flexing your big keyboard muscles it wasn't directed at you. I kind of agree with you. The guy's in the video's were riding like idiots and give the rest of us a bad name. Like I also said there is a time and place for it, I do stand my bike up and ride it fast, but not on the "roads" and never in any traffic. Just because I ride a sport bike doesn't mean I am an idiot

I've said twice now that I agree with your statement that doing these actions on roads with others is not safe and shouldn't happen. But lumping every guy that has a sportbike into the category of an idiot because they may play with them out in the middle of nowhere is ridiculous. That is pretty much like saying all people that race sportbikes are idiots. There is a lot of things out there that are dangerous and could kill you but all of us still do them.

But I did just go back and read a post I didnt see when typing early that you had submitted. I now see what your stance is an I appologize as I see you just meant the guys in the videos. WIth that said I still don't think we see eye to eye on several things but I'll call it an agree to disagree. I get very angry when coversations like this come up because my buddy was my best friend since I was nine, served 4 years in the Marines with two tours in Iraq, came home and opened a his bike up on a backroad 6 months after returning home and bad luck caught up with him.

I'm glad you took the time to read my post again. Not sure what else you can really disagree about given this thread only covers one topic but I'm entirely fine with agreeing to disagree.
