ok so that actual stock turbos are the same. How did all the mods cost 40k then? I am confused...I know of people who have made 10 second duramax's for a 1/3 of that price.

What are you talking about stock turbos are the same??? Try using a search engine before you ask stupid questions. It's an industrial injection twin kit that utilizes the stock turbo. The stock turbo exhaust drives the secondary turbo (s475)

Not a fully loaded slt in Canada you haven't. Do I really have to post pictures up of the book of receipts to show you how much was invested in this truck???? Why the hell would even give a shit anyways...??

Tranny was 10k

Twins were 5k

Engine/fuelling was another 5k

Lift and tires was 5k

Stereo was 3

Amp steps 2

Built front end components another 3 at least

Efi live software with laptop in truck with ATP tuning/DSP5 switch was 2k

The bumper was 3 grand with paint. I'm missing a whole pile of other little shit. Air dog, gauges, exhaust, transfer case brace, Anzo lights with HIDS, swapped halogens in bumper for HIDS as well, compustar alarm... Actually I forgot to mention the compressor wheel has been changed to a billet wheel in the stock turbo as well. Called the "batmo wheel" More money. It's probly over 40 with all the shipping costs actually...

This isn't the USA, this is Canada. All those prices doesn't even include shipping to get it here!! Don't ask silly questions...

You can make a 10 second civic for way less too. power costs more than speed I guess.

And I bet those tires and lift would slow it down significantly.

Can the civic pull my boat/camper with a quad in the back and still get above 12 mpg???

I could build a ten second anything for 1/4 the price, but you can't daily drive it reliably. Sure as shit ain't towin my boat with it either. And yes of course lift and tires would slow it down...what are you getting at???

In no way was I trying to prove that I own the fastest truck on the planet. I know it's not, I'm just proud of what I bought. My friend who owned it before me put many man hours and busted knuckles into building this thing (and so did I)

It is a fast truck for its size though that's all I was saying. Leaving the dump the other day with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel it cashed in at 7200lbs. It's actually amazing it still gets the mileage it does and can blow the doors off of a little 3000lbs car that's over 300hp...

That was my point, speed isn't everything. Everyone has priorities. I'd never drag my truck, let alone a lifted one. 10 sec is way too fast for mudgrips anyhow. To you, me, and many other people it's more important to pull boats/campers/trailer than fool around on a track.

Awesome truck bro! Your video makes me want a tuned diesel! But I have no real use for one. And I have a 10 week old daughter, so as im sure you know priorities change now. ;)

And I highly respect your decision to buy your buddies truck, I would most likely do the same if I was in your shoes.

And holy hell you got ripped off on those prices. Sorry, but even in Canada those are outrageous. Lemme guess, you had a shop do it all for you and you went with whatever they told you, right?

Chevyboy no need to respond to the previous response this is just another thread going way off topic.

I wanna try riding dunes on a bike man!! Never mind my truck!! Althought probly be fun eh? And yes I do get annoyed because some people don't read, or ask condescending questions. Oh well :-)

Here's a short clip I took yesterday from my iPhone... Didn't wanna burn off to much rubber. Expensive tires!! Shows how easy she wants to melt rubber tho!!

Chevyboy, I'm also part of the "you paid way too freakin' much" club. Don't sweat it. You did right by your buddy, We work our whole lives to take care of our families, our homes and ourselves, it's okay to have something nice to look at and know that you've earned it, and in your case, helped build it for a good friend. Some things mean more than the price associated with them, or the value that someone else has assesed to those things. Frogfish, it's all good man, I'm sure someone has said something similar to you in the past, maybe about your lift, or tires and wheels or custom grill guard. It's all relative. It's just hard for people to understand when they don't understand.

Edit- Chevyboy, just watched your video. Between the size of the tires and the look of that pavement that you were on, she must have gobs of go under the hood.

It's not tho, I never paid that much just now!!! His parents sold it to me for a fair price. I'm not BS about how much it cost to build, that shit isn't cheap to do man. Stuff like that adds up quick, for me it had nothing to do with the money it was put into it. More the time spent busting knuckles and memories made while workin on it...in my eyes it's still a beautiful truck. It was taken very good care of as well, in fact he probly Rollin over in his grave over these videos!!! Ahahaha
