Strange Rubbing

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

So i've had the RC 2" leveling kit on my truck and 285/55/20 nitto terra grapplers for over 7,000 miles. Love the setup. There is no rubbing, except on the drivers side when i turn full lock to the left. It doesn't rub on the other side at all. The only thing i can think of is that I weigh over 300 pounds and maybe the truck leans a little while i'm driving? It's always done this this is just the first time I have thought to ask about it. Any other ideas on why it might be rubbing?

I would like to.say that is normal.but I am no expert. 2in levels seem to be minimum for clearing tires. Either some cutting/ bending of trim in the wheel.well should help you if not going higher on lift.

I'm glad you asked this question. I am having the same problem, except on the opposite side. I have the RC kit but the older one that has the adjustability. I only have the 1" block on mine with stock tires and when I turn full lock to the right, my passenger tire rubs. I haven't had my wife turn the truck while I stand outside to see where it's rubbing, but I find it strange.

I've checked for signs of rubbing but cannot see anything.

Thoughts as well?

Did it rub without the 1" lift? Doesn't make sense to not rub stock but rub when there is 1" extra room.
