I have returned..... with a Tahoe too!

:driving: Anyone remember me? I was quite the regular, until I sold my last GM in 2008 and bought the Mazda. This is the longest I have gone without one. (I haven't been on the site since after announcing my purchase, as I ran into a several who pretty much believed that Japanese cars in America were just the 2nd part of the invasion dating back to Pearl Harbor. :nonod: ) There were still a lot of good people here so I look foward to rejoining the community.

Anywho, I have returned, as I finally bought another. Basically, 6 week old twins should explain most of it. Loving it so far, but it has only been a day. Still don't know if I could buy a post 2009 one, still angry over the Government buyout and the ensuing fallout(was pretty set on getting one of those 350 combined HP Vue Hybrids with 36 MPG for the wife until they dumped it concentrate on the Volt).

Going to head over to the SUV forum and ask some questions on my newest addition to the garage(It's in amazing condition. Stopped by so the parents could see their grandkids and the "new" Truck and my Father was amazed at how nice it was. Someone took amazing care of it..... Only Thing I need is a knob for the rear HVAC)

Mervz, site is looking good!

And if anyone is wondering, the Mazda has still proven a fantastic purchase, even though it does have a lot of Ford components and built on the same line as the Mustang. Considering seeling one of the cars, but both will prove useful(Mazda is fun, and Corolla is efficient so might just keep them both)

Welcome back, I personally have only been around the last couple of years. That's a sweet looking rig, should provide many years of good service. Good to hear when someone has such a good experience with other brands as well, I unfortunately haven't been so lucky minus a Jeep Cherokee I had years ago (still wish I kept it.)

Wingnut hasnt been with us for some time

Welcome back Snake!!! Some of the other "old" crowd are still around at times. Good looking truck by the way. Good luck with it and those kids. :jester:

Thanks. I remember you two. Nice Camaro, Ryan. Love the power folding seats, only to realize they will have car seat bases installed for many years to come. rendering the feature useless to me for many years to come. Was actually planning on getting a ZL1 for my next car. Might get put off a year or two now..... Miss mine, been gone for over 5 years now, Seems like yesterday:

I was going to go for a ZL1 (was on a dealer list #2) but I went with this.

Car seats fit fine :)

Nice car in the picture

My wife wants another convertible since we sold the Corvette, and when I showed her a pic of the new ZL1 convertible.....she didn't do the immediate eye roll. GOOD SIGN!

Spent 4 hours on it today. Washed it, clay bar on a few spots(tar specks), removed the dealer logo(can we out law those already? Does anyone care besides the guy that gets paid to put them on?), waxed it(meguiars ultimate), cleaned/polished the wheels with Eagle One wadding polish, Then put some wax on the wheels. The dealer logo was covering up the remenants of the old dealer logo, that was fun.

My wife took it baby stuff shopping with her sister, mom and sisters kid. She said she loves it. (because it is easy to see since sits up high :noway:, but its scary to park). Have half the third row removed to fit the stroller(twins size stroller)

Two gripes on this front: why does the middle row only have LATCH points in the middle and passenger side? There are none in back, where the kids fit better than adults?

Ordered the K&N 57 gen 2 series FIPK. Amazon reviews have one guy getting about 1 mpg better, another getting almost 2 mpg better.

the 17.5hp/18.9Tq gain has nothing to do with it :ninja: . Nor the fact that peak on-the-dyno hp nears 275 and peak tq touches 280 with it. Nope. Not at all :ninja:

After calling one dealer that couldn't figure it out(and oddly, had another customer just ask for the same part), I called my old stand by dealer with awesome parts guys(not sure why I even called then second instead of first) and he was able to find the knob for $10 in texas, and ordered it for me. :ughdance:

So next week is going to be busy, get to cut up the grille and put in the billet, swap to billet emblems, install the FIPK, replace the knob(ok, I admit, thats not work)and whatever else I find to do
