Bose or Beats by Dre?

Skullcandy all the way. For the price and lifetime warranty they can't be beat.

Plus they have been getting good press regarding their sound, they retuned some of the higher end headphones for more sound clarity.

  • 2 weeks later...

I tried a couple set of Skull Candy headsets and was fairly happy with the sound ( I am not as sharp of hearing as I used to be!) but was very dissapointed that they did not control the iPod functions of my iPhone. The packaging advertised they were a full function headset, and since I usually have my phone buried deep in my pocket this function was a deal breaker for me.

I ended up with a $40 set of earbuds from Brookstone in the airport in Chicago. Im sure someone else makes them, probably some underpaid kid in a 3rd world country but for what they are I like them a lot! Decent sound (again, slightly hard of hearing ) and all of the controls work flawlessly with my iPhone, including the mic and telephone functions.

I am interested in upgrading soon, since I'm sure longevity with these is probably not the best, does anybody know if the Beats or Soul or any other high end product works properly with the remote functions of the iPhone/iPod?

(edited for font size...not sure if its the web page or my crappy browser at work but it appeared rediculously small on my screen..)

Believe it or not, monoprice make some decent IEMs. A few versions of theirs beat out pairs worth 10x as much in a comparison test. I can't remember what the PN was for them, sorry.

these are the IEM's people seem to like (on head-fi and other forums):

these are the circumaural headphones people like:

i've never personally heard either, but they're supposed to be amazing bang-for-your-buck deals.
