New truck or new car? (for me)

Well yesterday, I was kinda bored. So, I went to the local Ford dealership & started driving until I spotted 4 brand new 5.0 Mustangs, had black, white, green, and blue. I really liked the black one. Then, once I started driving around I spotted a Ford Raptor, which was dead sexy it was black, but fell in love with it....Soon as I got out of my truck to look at it, here she comes....member of the sales staff. I was like really....can never get away from them.....But she wasn't too bad looking & she was nice to talk too....but anyways.....She like I can get you in a 5.0 or that Raptor you're looking at it.....I was like oh really....I would but Dad would kill me if I done that....haha.

But anyways, I got about 18 more payments left on my truck, it'll be paid for! If it wasn't for the new Silverados/Sierra's coming out next year....I would probably got it....Thats the only reason why I didn't get it.

Can't decide, if I wanna trade my truck in for a new truck or should I keep it & buy a new car.....like a Camaro, Challenger, or a 5.0 decisions, decisions....No idea what to do....

What would yall do? If I got a new car, I would keep my truck......BUT if I really like the new gens, I'll trade my truck in for a new truck! Sheww.......Just wish I had a 6.2 with a 6 speed. I hate my 4 speed.

I made this decision a whle back, and sometimes I think I made the wrong one. I would get your truck paid off, and then look into getting a car along side of it. This is what I wish I would have done. My 05 Silverado wold have been paid off last December, and I would have had a nice used Camaro or G8 along side of it. Doesn't matter anyhow now though because I couldn't be happier with my new truck plus car insurance and upkeep on two vehicles makes me glad I didn't do it.

6.2 Camaro manual; that would be my choice. I'd love to convince my wife to let her Traverse go in trade for one of these, but there's no way she'll hear of that.

challenger is not even on the same level as the mustang and camaro. and they are ugly.

well your first deciding factor should be, do you even need a truck? do you use your truck? i can tell you right now that i would own a manual camaro if i didn't NEED my truck.

next, do you really want a payment? if your truck is going to be paid off why dont you keep it for a while and stock pile some cash?

Challenger wouldn't even be on my list. It looks awesome but its sloooooow. You need to step up to the $45k SRT to run with $30k Mustangs and Camaros.

I actually test drove a Challenger today, I wasn't really that impressed. My buddy tagged along with me. 2011 RT model, I did do a nice little burnout with it :jester: They only had an automatic & it took forever for it to downshift. Marked the Challenger off my list!!

So, its gonna be a 5.0, Camaro, or I might go get a Subaru WRX STI. Anyone have a STI?

I really want a Cadillac CTS V Coupe!!! just too much :tear:

I've had my truck for almost 3 years & I have never towed anything. I do use the bed a lot, if I got rid of the truck.....I would miss it a lot....I know I would!!! So Idk what to do....

Has anyone test drove a Raptor on here?

See guys,, I came close trading my truck in for a Fully loaded '12 Chevy 1500 Black Crew Cab truck back in January. It had the 6.2, 3.73 rear axle, nav black everything on the inside it was VERY NICE! That was the perfect truck to me at the time, only to find out that the new Gen was coming out next year & thats why I didn't buy it......2 days later it was sold frown.gif

My advice would be to pay off the truck and get out from under vehicle payments. My last truck before the current one was a 98 so I had it for almost 15 years. From your list of mods, it looks like you enjoy driving the truck?

As for which car, that is your choice but none of the 3 are really a good 4 season vehicle even though I drove muscle cars year round for 20+ years, a truck is a better choice in winter.

Having gone through over 35 years of owning vehicles, the all time best vehicle I ever owned was the one that was paid for. I have had vehicle payments every month for the last 20 years. My 2010 truck was paid off about 6 months ago. I really like the truck now. Unless I win the lottery, I will not be likely buying another for quite a while. But, I am seriously looking for a supercharger kit for the 4.8. That will satisfy the need for a change, and will be a lot cheaper than putting out for a new vehicle.

I do love it, it seems like my truck is just losing power for some odd reason. Still gotta Line-X the bed & thought about getting a whole new exhaust system for it even LT headers.
