Help getting a daily driven car?

Like the Title says, but not for me. My Mom is getting a new car & I was gonna help her try to choose one out for her. Shes getting rid of her Honda Accord & she'll be giving that to my sister which she is getting her license in two months. My Mom has a winter vehicle, a Mitsubishi Endeavor, which she bought brand new like 6 years ago & its awd. But anyways, its paid off.

She needs a car thats good on gas, least 25-40 mpg, 4door, and no more $20-25K. Brand new or used. She works home-health care, so she constantly driving around to her patients & etc.

I was thinking she should get a Chevy Cruze, Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, & cars like that.

What do yall think would be some good ones? or chime in from what your daily driven work cars are, how you like em & how reliable they are, thanks.

My Wife has a 2012 Cruze RS with a little over 17,000 miles on it. So far it is getting 35.3 MPG and still climbing. The fit and finish is the best I've even seen in a GM small car, and it has decent power for only being a 1.4L

my wife works for home health care also, she uses a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and couldent be happier with it,it gets 45mpg,and is a simple car, meaning easy to work on and maintain. My wife is generally quite hard on cars and usually has lots of problems due to that fact. The Hyundai has held up impecably throught the 2 yrs and 88,oookm she has put on it,she has stretched her oil changes out every time, the last time I caught her she had 10,000km on her oil change.we have had to do nothing to this car except oil changes and tire replacement, and it still drives beautifull. The sticker price of this car was $19k.

I talked to my mother tonight. I told her how a lot of people like their Cruzes'. She wants Leather & sunroof, so I told her to get the LTZ package. She likes the Blue Granite, that light blue color & white.

So she said shes gonna get a Cruze or a Civic......I was like Mom, everyone has a Civic, get something else, like a Cruze! lol

She said she also will be taking the Cruze on vacation trips, so room for luggage is a must!

Why not a 1.8? I have one, wife has one, and my parents have one and my brothers wife has one. Been great so far. Did not want the turbo. They produce plenty of power for such a small engine.

my sister has a 1.8L cruze and it dosent get nearly as good mpg as the 1.4 and the 1.8 seems just a little bit rougher then the 1.4. also the 1.4 is faster,

thats just what i have experienced after driving both back to back
