Need some help from some other Canadians!!!!

So I'm buying this truck in Ontario and I'm wanting to put Alberta plates on it. So it's going to need an out of province inspection done. The truck is located where I live, but I work 2 weeks in 2 weeks out in ft Mac. My plan is to put a temp or "in transit" registration on this truck so I can drive it out west to put Alberta plates on it. It's covered under my insurance already, but in order to do this do i have to bring ownership in person to an Alberta registry??? This will take too long because then I have to wait over a month to drive the truck out west, I don't want to take that long.

Is their any way I can just take advantage of the 2 week grace period when transferring an existing plate to another vehicle? I.e. take the Alberta plate off my truck slap it on the new one, and just carry bill of sale with me. Then once I get there just get a new plate like I originally want to do...

I hope someone can help me out, I don't want to take 2 months to get all this done. I'm in Alberta right now but I can't go and do anything with registries because I haven't actually purchased the truck yet. Bank needs a signature, in person :-@!!!!!! Any help or comments would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!

Ps...maybe just say screw it. Put my plate from my truck on it and driver! The fine can't be to bad ;-p

It's not the fine I would worry about, is what your insurance would say in the event of an accident. Any excuse they could use they will.

I would call the MTO and see what they say. Get the facts right from the source.

I got it figured out, i can actually get an "in transit" sticker In Ontario with an Albertan drivers license and insurance. So I was told by the mto. It last 7 days. Long enough for me to drive it out west. That being said, it's going to be a fun drive with no license plate on the truck. Only a little sticker in the window.

Place bets on how many times I get pulled over????
