New truck

Well I wish it was better circumstances but I'm in the works of buying another truck. It was my best friends duramax, I've talked about it before on here. He got killed where we work, bad accident. I've been off work for awhile. Anyways, his parents can't afford to keep it so I offered to buy it. I'm all set with the bank and insurance. :-)

07.5 gmc 2500hd slt, loaded, leather, sunroof, 6" lift, BMF's, 35 Toyos, industrial injection twin turbos, stage 5 suncoast tranny built for 1000hp, air dog lift pump, afe up pipe, fuel rail shim, EGR delete, dual fueler, resonator plug, all types of gauges, 5" straight pipe, amp research steps, Anzo HID headlights, bulletproof bumper with winch mount and 4 PIAA 80watt HID's, weathertech Matt's, BANGIN' stereo, DVD/nav system. Alot more just can't think of it all.

DSP5 tuning switch with 90hp, towing tune, economy tune, 500 RWHP and than a hot 650 RWHP/1200 ft lbs tune. All tuning done with EFI Live. Very fast truck, been in it racing a z06. Dead even up to about 70-80mph off of a boost launch, vette pulls away eventually tho. Not bad for an 8000lbs truck on 35's. Only needed 500hp to beat a camaro.

I'm very excited but sad, the truck is coming with 2 other turbos, he was in the process of sourcing some injectors. Will make 900-1000hp. I helped alot with his truck, and I know he would be pissed if it got sold to some clown who didn't baby it. I have a couple pictures, I'll post more when I get it. Gonna take awhile because he didn't have a will. Parents are trying to acquire power of attorney. shes a beauty of a truck, I want to keep his dream of a 1000hp daily driver alive!!!!

Here's some pics, his truck make it into the 2011 GM truck calendar. Here it is.

Thanks for the kind words, the last month has been pretty rough. We were buddies since we were single digits, still worked in fort McMurray together. It's definitely weird losing a close friend, don't realize how much you actually talked until they are gone. On a positive note I'm excited that I can keep his truck in good hands!!! I don't think I'll ever consider it my truck, it will always be his ill just take care of it for him!!! Don't care how much it costs.

He would laugh at the thought about someone being creeped out, call you a p**sy LOL.

I know he would want it to go to good hands. I'll post some pics and vids once I get it. I'll suction cup my gopro to it.

I'm horribly sorry to hear about your buddy, I lost my best friend 3 years ago July 19 to a motorcycle accident. We started hanging out when I was 9 and he was 12, was the big brother I never had so I can somewhat understand what you are going through. His dad kept his truck, couldn't get rid of it, but I got a tattoo for him on my back. He was a Marine, two tours in Iraq, and his obsession was tat's, had over 30 if I remember correctly. I never got into them, never wanted one, but I said if he ever got killed serving I would bare one in his honor with pride. Little did I know 6 months after he was out that we'd lose him on a bike so, I held to my promise.

I think it is awesome that you are stepping up for his family and for what I know he would want, his best bud to keep that truck rolling in his honor. You should be a proud man. The one thing I always tell myself is that Brad would KICK MY ASS if I ever started being a baby about his passing. I do my best to keep the memories all smiles but sometimes it hits you and I break down.

Keep your head up, that truck is SICK!

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the kind words, I'm back at work now. Sure is different without him around, been pretty weird. We both commute to Ontario but work/live together in Alberta for 2 weeks at a time also. So coming back to work was hard, only 2 shifts left. Head back home to pick up the truck hopefully, might get it on the 14th....
