Damn Ford, you are out of your flipping mind..

I saw at least 5 of these running the dunes in Silver Lake Michigan over the weekend. One guy in what appeared to be a brand new one was pounding the shit out of that thing. I wish I was rich enough, or dumb enough to be able to pound on a $60k vehicle like that.

there are so many better vehicles you can get for 60k.. even 45k...

i think some people are ok with having payments of 450 for 9 years.. not me

oh I agree, not for me either, I only finance for 36 months and never have payments over $500 I have always done this regardless of the price of the vehicle, if I can't pay it off in 3 year (by the time the 3/36 is up) then IMO I can't afford it.. Yeah that's right I put a lot down on a vehicle, the financing isn't so much because I can't afford to pay cash but rather because I like to have the finacing on my credit report to keep it in the high 700s/low 800s.

I'm not wealthy by todays standards, however I do know how to save, and live way below my means. I also live by some rules my father taught me..

never by a car that costs more than you NET in 6 months.

never buy a house that costs more than you NET is 5 years.

never finance anything that you don't have 100% cash on hand to pay it off if something happens, and if possible put an equal amount of cash to the cost of the purchase in a high yield acount (bond, money market, whatever) that makes more interest than you are paying on the loan, so if the interest on the acount drops below the interest on the loan you cash out and pay off the loan..

bought my AV in Oct of 2010, it will be paid off in Oct of this year, 1 year early.. Probably gonna keep it (only has 26K miles on it) lift it, and buy something else as a daily driver.

the Raptor was what I wanted in 2010, but they didn't have a 4-door, now they do, but I won't pay $70K for that rig.. and knowing how people beat on them, I won't buy a used one..

So the AV will get lifted and I will get a 2013 or 2014 'Vette most likely, and Ford can suck it..

When I bought my truck in Alaska, they had an extra $2k for an Alaska adjust MSRP something or another. Fortunately they really needed to clear out the '06s (since it was already August that year) so I ended up not paying that and had the truck marked down $5k below MSRP anyway. It's ridiculus that dealerships add to the MSRP for whatever reason, unless actually "adding" to the vehicle. As others have said, these vehicles are already expensive enough without these add-on prices.

i completley agree. i know WAY to many people who live way outside out their means... i know someone who lives in a house (anyone who saw it would call it an abandonded shack) that he rents for 430 a month, and just bought a 2012 big horn cummins or whatever the top line dodge is and has 3000$ tires.

id like to know how he pulled that off...

that being said, i cant stand payments. i pay cash for my trucks, granted they are not brand new top of the line, powerful, cool trucks with 2000 miles but my only payment is gas so i cant complain.

And that is bad enough these days.

yeah tell me about it. and i drive about 700-800 miles a week

I used to drive that far in Alaska. Now it's down to about 1k miles a month, including roads trips and what not.

You would think that GM (they all do it) would not let them do that due to loss in sales, it should be against the law.

Actually, what you are suggesting is against the law. Manufacturers cannot dictate what the selling price is, they can only suggest. Outside of that is called price fixing. That is why it is "MSRP" and not "MRP"

Manufacturers of some items can dictate a minimum advertised price (MAP), such as some of the flashlights on my website, Snoozer pillows, etc.

I dont get how any dealer can get MORE then MSRP...

The dealers here all sell at or below MSRP. I bough my truck in mid 2011, (before the 2012's were available) and MSRP was just under 41k. I paid $24,995 Thats 16k Under MSRP and it was not an oddity. A friend of mine bought a similar truck, (a step down) for $23.995

(both trucks were 4.8l Ext cab 4wd's)

However dealers here are asking around 67-70k for raptor crew's...

I normally wouldn't finance new, however I needed a new truck, and the bank wouldn't loan me money on a used one. (because of my short time with my current company) NOTHING to do with my credit rating. (mid to high 700's)

Most people that buy high end vehicles do not finance. They got the money because they do not do stupid stuff, like financing a depreciating asset.

What differance does it make? No matter how you buy it you still loose money, you just loose a little more financing it.

Like its been said this isn't Ford at all, it is the dealerships. And people will buy them, that's how a free market works. Hell, when the PT Cruiser first came out and was so popular dealers somehow got away with marking up that pile of trash.
