old-chevy-dude
Hit up 2 Ford dealers yesterday looking at the 2013 Raptor.. These dealers are out of their flipping minds.. $58K for a loaded raptor that does NOT include cooled seats, sunroof, or power folding mirrors (3 feature I currently have on my AV) plus a $15,000 "market adjustment" aka Dealer added rip off $73,000 for a Raptor, No freaking way, IMO as nice as they are, they are not worth a nickel over $50K and that's pushing it.. Add to that; the middle trade in blue book on my AV is $32K and they offered me $24K for it because "that is all we can get at auction" Hell even my Chevy dealer offered me $38K on the AV for trade on a 2013 Black Diamond Edition AV last time I was there for service. walked the Ford lot, $60K for a Taurus SHO? $45K for a Fusion Hybrid, all these vehicles with $5K - $15K "Market Adjustments" Ford tell your dealers to get there heads out of there asses.. Guess I won't be looking at Raptors in the near (or far) future..
RyanbabZ71
Chevy dealers are adding $5-20K "market adjustments" to the ZL1. Back a few months ago a dealer about 2 hours north of me had 3 allocations. Guy I knew had #1 at MSRP. I contacted the dealership and they wouldnt budge off $5K over. F that.
Silverado4x4
You would think that GM (they all do it) would not let them do that due to loss in sales, it should be against the law.
STINSAN3
Man thats crazy! I won't pay no more than $50K for a brand new vehicle

DwelveAT
Wow... just wow... thank goodness I am buying my Audi A5 when I move back to the states direct from the factory through Audi Military Sales. For the model and optionsl I want it would cost $45k plus any market add up at the dealership. Vehicle prices for special orders direct from factory at sold at invoice which is normally about $4-5K below MRSP. Maybe Ford is just being cocky seeing they were the only 1 out of the big three that didn't recieve any bailout money and think they can charge whatever they want. Who knows.... kstruckcountry
I'd pay $50k for a new GMC Duramax. No gas truck is worth that. With the frame bending issues, it looks like all you're getting in the Raptor is Fox Shox and BFGs. I'd rather have a nicer truck, JMO. ^ I agree with grape. WAY more for your money. Daryl Z71
Dealers sell cars and trucks what the market will pay. Most of the time it is well under MSRP for slow moving vehicles. Sometimes it is well over MSRP for hot selling vehicles. For you it might not be worth it to pay 15k over MSRP. To others they will gladly write the check. Until they run out of people who gladly write the 15k over MSRP check, the Raptor prices will not come down. Forget what you are being offered for trade. Just sell it out right and get the max the market will pay for it. Trades are nothing but a shell game where you will lose everytime. This is a good idea as long as you can find a buyer. With this economy it might be somewhat hard, but then again it might not be. Just have to find the right person.
Morgan1986
I think they charge alot for the raptor becuase the only truck that can compare to it for off the dealer off road package is the dodge powerwagon and that is a different animal . GM in my opion does not offer a truck that is a truck i would take off road from the factory but I would take no new truck off road that is what atvs and bikes are for . Market Adjustment = outright ripoff Dealer Options = stuff the dealer did or added to the vehicle to mess it up. Thankfully, I don't see much if any of those dealer tricks around here anymore.
