Chevy payed for Pop-a-lock

We were on our way home from vacation yesterday, and we stopped to drop my BIL off at his appartment (3 hrs from home). my wife was gettin the kid out of the Tahoe, and when she closed the doors, they all locked. Not sure whos fault it was, but the keys were still in the ignition. Called OnStar, but we hadnt had an account since the free trial expired, so unfortunately, no dice. That lady sent me to Chevys roadside assistance helpline. Amazingly, chevy located a local locksmith, sent them out to us, and payed the bill. Not sure why, but it was awesome.

Just wondering though, is this something that chevy offers everyone, or is it something I signed up for when we bought the truck and just forgot I payed for?

Roadside assistance is standard equipment. 3 years/60k (metric) here. You would think it would be cheaper for GM just pay OnStar a fee to pop the lock though. It is a subsidiary of GM, but, they should be able to pay a fee across the two divisions.

Its an 09 (put into service originally Nov 09, bought by us in Apr 10) with 45K on the clock.

Thats way over 60,000 km.

In Canada, it is paired with standard warranty, 3 years, 60,000km. In the States, the Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation programs are 100,000 miles or 5 years (whichever comes first), looks to be paired with powertrain warranty.

Mine did that once, it at least I think it did. I don't remember locking the doors at a fuel stop, and the doors locked when the closed. I had the key pulled out just a stitch, to avoid the door chime while filling up. Thankfully, I had Good Sam Roadside.
