Hybrid owner was hating on me at the lake

I had hybrid owners at the lake talking crap because I would leave the truck running or let it lock in first going down a grade. They would tell me I'm wasting gas and hurting the environment. I saw this and it made me laugh.

I'd agree with the above, a Cruze or whatever is better for the environment in the long run, tell them MYOB. A simple "just a car" will last longer as well, unless they intend to buy batteries which will be worth more than the car once it has depreciated some and the factory ones are toast. I think I remember an article posted on here about how a Hummer may be more "eco friendly" than a Prius.

They said on the British version of Top Gear on I think Season 12 that someone did a study, and it's so complicated to make a Prius because of making the batteries and the other parts that in the long run it does more environmental damage than a Land Rover Discovery. Just shows how smart the "Green" people are

yup.

Buy a hybrid or whatnot to save on gas. People who buy these cars because they believe "they are saving the world" are just deluding themselves.

Cali smog laws don't help either. Just because your silly little Prius passes smog doesn't mean it is green lol

There for rich people anyhow who can just trade them in on a new one every few years. There throw away cars.

my mom has a 2012 cruze eco 1.4 6 speed, and it i have gotten it up to 49.5 mpg on the highway. gets around 35 in town driving efficiently. that being said, what need is there to buy and expensive, complicated, just as bad for the enviorment, ugly, prius?

the only reason people buy priuses is to say "i own a prius" so they can LOOK like they are helping the enviorment
