3" lift for 2012 silverado??

Recommended Posts

Don't count out the body lift just yet. If you really wanna go with 3" running a 2" level with a 1.5" body lift works out pretty well. That's what I'm running, and the body lift isn't as noticeable as you would think. Plus even though it pains me to think about it as a "positive" you can clear 33's quite nicely, at least I did. Check sig or my gallery for pictures.

Why don't they make a 3" kit for the 900 trucks that drops everything to keep decent angles like they make for the 800's?

Skyjacker makes a complete 3" kit. Most don't because it's not cost effective.

Do they really? Is it on there website?

I would do a 3" body lift + 2" leveling kit over this any day.

For the price on their site I would do BDS. Rancho or CST before this kit

I agree. It sounds like a better kit, and whats another inch.

I just don't like them because of cutting bumper mounts and things like that. Not sure about the suspension lifts, but alot of them you don't have to cut anything. I don't like the idea of hacking up parts on a brand new pickup for no other reason then looks. Im ok with how a BL looks. They look fine to me as long as the gaps are covered which isn't hard to do.

Most if not all the quality 4" and greater lifts require cutting a section of cross member mount out. It can always be welded back in though..

Right. Most lifts that drop the diff, that I have seen, require some cutting, and some even require welding of some components. They also require grinding some of the cooling fins off of the side of your front diff. Thats the main reason I went with the BL, besides the cheaper price of course  . I didnt think about cutting the bumper brackets because I builr the replacement front bumper for my truck right after the BL, so I never mounted the factory bumper back on.

If it were me, and I could have afforded to do it, Ide probably gone with a good quality 4" lift, but had a reputable shop do the install. Check out Nuke_1. His truck looks killer, bot not overkill. Also, you may get with him to compare truck height to see how much more height you would gain with that setup.
