I saw a jacked up Caprice wagon on the dunes when I was there. One of the other guys got a pic of it I think, let me try and find it...533424_2203362380750_2039949014_n.jpg

And that Montana is one badass mommy mobile- too bad it probably can't get out of it's own way!

I'd like to lift my truck but as it is it barely fits in some parking garages- I've seen signs like 6' 9" clearance and I stop and think "Well I'm a bit over 6' tall and the truck is taller than I am but not 9" taller.... I hope." then go for it. I've had a few where the antenna hits and I know that isn't much taller than the cab.

i dont park my truck in anything so im safe when i get my lift haha i hit my flag on everything though

I took my setup all off after the dunes trip, I'll never make it out there often enough to justify leaving it all on, not to mention I used a spare flag that belonged to one of the others who came up, so I had to give it back. We're trying to plan a big fall meet as the big ZR2 that pulled me out got sold to another member of our group and the guy who built that truck bought a LS1-powered buggy thing that will be an absolute monster out there. I'd love to say I'll get back out there before then but I honestly don't know. Just about every weekend in July is already spoken for as are a few in August. It's kinda sad- I figured when I moved out here I'd be able to go out there all the time and it just isn't happening. :(

But before I go back I need a new damn tent- not being able to stand up is stupid.

Are you far enough west to get the lake effect snow?

I've only been here since March so I don't have a great feel for winter but I've been mid/south state (Lansing, Ann Arbor) several times in the past during winter and it wasn't too bad. Only real rotten storm was when I had a job at MSU and they flew me to Grand Rapids cause it was cheaper than Detroit and I got caught in a good storm in an Altima with bald tires.

I don't think anyone had a strong winter this past year. We got like three storms- one the weekend before Halloween (first significant snowfall on those dates in NH since the Civil War!), one in December and one in March the day I had to pack for the move to Michigan.
