Anyone watch the episode this morning? Their new project truck is a 1971 Cheyenne truck with a big block. I would love that truck just as is but there is a ton of potential with it. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Yep caught it. Im thinking bit modern (lighter) engine, upgraded suspension, upgraded brakes, little bit of interior work?

 

It has pretty good suspension now but I cant help thinking that the front at least couldnt be improved on. I was suprised how well it did on the cornering.

 

The braking, definetly 4 or more piston disc upgrade all around. That stopping distance was kinda bad...

 

All-in-all, a nice find!

yea. im thinking they are going to put in an ls based engine and a 4l60 or 4l80. it will most likely be a 5.3 or a built lq4

My first choice would be an LS7 but in reality that's way to $$ for a build. Nice LS3 some nice wheels better suspension... its already a great looking truck..

if i had an open pocket book id supercharge an LS7 but leaving the engine alone the LS9 is slightly better. both engines have potential. ive seen a 71 cheyenne do autocross.
