I have a 1911 and all my AR has is the EOTech

I'd expect that would fit fine as I think my Aimpoint is taller. The case is awesome, waterproof, durable, etc.

For the pistol they had options for the M9/Beretta 92, 1911 and the M11/Sig P228. I got mine with the Sig cutout and all of my pistols except for the Beretta fit decently enough for transport because they're all the same size. For the rifle I got the M4 SOPMOD version, it has large cuts to clear optics and such. This is it:

They can do custom too. Browse the site, they have tons of options.

Something like that will cost $500 or more...........WELL worth it though for traveling.

You got your AR set up perfect, no useless junk hanging all over. Can't tell from the pic but do you have a light on the handguard?....Even got the red dot in the right place. Can't stand seeing them mounted on the rear of the flat top rail. They should be as far to the front as possible, just like yours! Nice set-up.

Get rid of that Sig and put a Glock in there!!!!!

When we ordered them through work, we filled out a custom sheet order and they cut the foam accordingly.

That's how I have my EOTech. I didn't know how to mount it but I read the instructions. I have to figure out if I want a railed gas block or mount a flip up on the front of the hand guard

No light currently. The case was just under $400. And the Sig was just what I used for the photo, I carry my G32 or my HK45C.

What do you have for a handguard? I recommend going with a free float handguard that covers the gas block entirely and then have a fixed front sight mounted on the rail of the handguard. There is no need to have a folding sight with with a reflex sight such as an aimpoint or eotech. With the dot you are focusing on your target with the dot on it and those sights will magically disappear from your vision. With irons you focus on the front sight. When you don't focus on that front sight, you forget it's even there. My rifle currently has a flip up on the front, but I bought that before I had experience shooting it. My new AR is coming with a fixed Daniel Defense front sight.

Right, but if you want a front sight without changing handguards you will need a new gas block. If you are replacing the gas block why not just go for a milspec FSP.

If I were in your shoes, given that your gas block is already low profile, I'd buy a free float tube that mounted to a milspec barrel nut (troy Alpha for example) and then through a fixed sight on that.

If I did it again I would like to do a railed gas block and do HK hooded/ghost ring type sites front and back. The MP5 I shot a few years back had them and I really liked the setup.

Personally I can't stand hooded front sights. My MI sights I used to run on my AR had a hooded front. They were on a railed block too. My complaint is that if your elevation doesn't land your front sight post in the center of that hood, you will not instinctively put the front sight post in the center of the rear sight. Instead you will line the ghost ring up with the hood of the front sight, and they actual post will not be in the center. If you're just going to shoot from the bench without stress it will be fine, but it makes it tough to snap the gun to your shoulder and put that post in the center of the rear sight. With the hooded sights you will tend to align the circles instead of centering the post in the rear sight.

IMO railed blocks are a PITA. You have to make sure you get one that is the same plane as the receiver. Most are not. Otherwise you have to get taller front sights to level it up. After floating my rifle, I don't think I could ever go back to having an exposed gas block. My hand typically sits right where the gas block of a midlength gas system sits. This equals burns without a float  Plus I think the railed blocks are ugly  But that is just person taste.

I haven't given it much thought to be honest because work is back into full swing and I don't have time to be screwing with it. Just seemed on the MP5 that target picture was easy to get. Plus by getting the 45 how I want it, I've given HK enough money for a bit.

I agree with Sputnik, for the most part. If you have a free float rail or are planning on a free float rail. I'd just use flip up's for the longer site radius, If you currently have a gas block with a rail, and non floated hand guards its upto you.
