Looking to replace my rear shocks with heavy duty shocks for towing. Truck is a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 4wd. What shocks have you used and had good success with?

I've had my Monroe Reflex's for the last three years and have nothing but good luck with them. As to rears I would also suggest the Monroe Sensatrac. Look like a great shock plus you get the added "spring" for load leveling ability. I wanted them at the time I was replacing but they were constantly out of stock and I really wanted to get my shocks replaced since they were toast, ~69k miles on factory shocks wasn't sit good with me.

I'm thinking the Sensatracs as I can get a great price on a set of them. They are geared towards trucks that haul/tow. Anyone use them or have experience with them? They seem like a decent shock.

Recieved my shocks from UPS on Wed. Haven't had a chance to install them yet but they look like a decent shock. Will have them installed and ready to haul our rig for our July 4th trip!

Got my Monroes Sensatrac's installed this weekend! Haven't had a chance to try em out with the TT yet. The rear of the truck now sits about an inch higher than the front (just replaced rear shocks). Steering seems a bit different and the rear doesn't bounce at all now with normal driving. Doesn't seem to be stiff at all however. True test with the TT next week hopefully.

Well get on it then...lol

When I replaced mine, they were only just starting to get bouncy on speed bumps, not bad on the road. All the same they were tired, plus I knew what I would be putting the truck through so I went ahead with replacing them. Sooo much better.
