Doomsday 2012

In reality, every time you get into your vehicle you can die, nobody even thinks about that.

On the contrary, with today's drivers (I do mean ALL of them), this is foremost on my mind, especially when I've got the kids in the back seat.

i recently watched a very legit documentary on this crap, explaining how advanced the mayans actually were. which is amazing to tell you the truth, they constructed pyramids with better accuracy than they can today! BUT it went on to explain that when they made their calender, their was no such thing as daylight savings time yet. so if we calculated and recorded time like the mayans(and other civilizations) did it would almost be year 2014 or something. its all a bunch of BS as far as im concerned.

I think thats how the last guy predicted the end of the world. Supposedly, it was all gonna end on May 21st 2011.

Dont know what we are all worried about anyway. According to the Superbowl commercials, all us bowtie boys (and girls) will survive.

The Mayans were only able to construct such pyramids with the help of ancient aliens....everyone knows that.

Give me a break. The Mayan calendar will roll over just like the Gregorian calendar did on January 1, 2000. Just like Chevyboy86 said above the Mayans did not calculate how many days in a year correct, and we could go on and on.

Good Point on mentioning the Gregorian Calender. The construction of the Mayan Calender predates the construction of the Gregorian system. An important difference is that the Gregorian Calender includes Leap Years. Mayan Calender does not. I did the math once....will have to do it again. But I know if you think of a Year as 365.25 days (Modern), and not simply 365 days (Mayan) ...there's a big discrepancy. If we followed the Mayan system, the current date would already be well into 2013 because of all the extra (unaccounted-for) days that have added up over the past many hundreds of years. So this whole 2012 scare is futile because "Doomsday" has already passed.

I know how they built the pyramids. They didn't have a computer, cellphones, television to distract them. All they had to do was kill and cook their food, procreate, and make a roof over their head.

While we spend most of our time looking down, they spent most of their time looking up. Just a thought.
