1.5" Body Lift with Floor Shifter 4x4, Possible?

Recommended Posts

Title pretty much sums it up. Has anyone done the 1.5" or 3" body lift with the floor shift 4x4? In the research I have done I read that some have made an extension bracket but, is it reliable and will I have full range?

I'm looking into a Zone kit again. I want to run close to the same setup as my last truck, the addiction is coming back again.

This is on a GMT 800 and I would expect it should be close to the same as on a GMT 900.

yes. my brother did it with his 2006 silvy 1500. he did have some issues with initial installation because they didnt install the extension properly, but after that he hasnt had any issues- and thats including a crash where he tipped it on its side. he installed a performance accessories 3" body lift.

Thanks for the reply. I have read through the instructions from Zone's website and forgot the tow hooks on GMT 800's are goofy with BL's. I believe the best bet for me is to go with a 275/70/17 tire for a little extra meat and save until I can go out and buy a BDS 6" kit with 35's.

I've screwed up too many tires and purchased smaller lifts early and always wanted to go bigger. This time around ill save for a couple years and get everything all at once.

I have the zone 1.5 kit with a floor shifter for 4x4, I didnt have to make a bracket, but after some adjusting it works just fine. Biggest thing was there are two fuel lines that run right above the linkage. All I had to do was give them a little push towards the floor, and that was enough to allow the linkage to move fully. Also on the tow hooks it wasnt really bad, just had to flip them upside down and drill one new hole on each side.

my brother and i both fit 34s (305/70/17) on our trucks. we both have the 3" bl with the t-bars cranked to fit. they just fit out front. only rubbing was on the black plastic splitter that goes under the bumper- a couple clips and it came right off anyway.

and ive read that for the tow hooks if you just flip them over and install them on the opposite side they fit just fine. i didnt know this until after i got rid of them, but thats what ive read. someone on this site told me that.
