ReadyLift Review and Install

Recommended Posts

I got around to installing my ReadyLift front leveling kit and rear blocks this last weekend. I will say it is a very nice kit and looks awesome on the truck. I do not have any pictures to upload here at work, but will try and get some tonight.

The install took me about 4 hours with dinner break. I have a 2011 so none of the bolts or nut gave me any problems as far as removal. The instructions that come with the kit are pretty good, but I did a bunch of research on these forums and others. I assume that was why the install went smoothly.

The most difficult part on the front end was holding the brake/steering knuckle after removing it from the upper ball joint. It is heavy and akward. I had my wife help get the upper control arm pushed down so I could reattach the ball joint. After that, just tightening up all of the hardware to spec and making sure everything was back together. One thing I have to check is the upper ball joint torque since you can not get a socket and torque wrench on the nut. I dont know how the dealership does that, but I will have them check it when I get it aligned.

On the rear, again the instructions were helpful. Just unbolt the u bolts, jack up the spring and remove and replace the blocks. Tightening the u-bolts was a pain in the *** laying there on my back. The impact really helped removing and getting the new nuts started.

Once I got the truck back on the rubber, it looked just like I wanted. The front control arms are about 1/2" from the bump stops, but I have not noticed any problems with them hitting in the little I have drove it. I think for me this is the only area of concern with the kit.

Let me know if you have any questions about the install and I will get some pics loaded soon.

I have been super busy because of the end of the school year. I will get some pics tonight hopefully.

SouthCo, I did the 2.25" front and 2.25" block in back. I really did not want as much rake as factory, but do tow antique tractors and cars around. So I wanted a little more height in back so I did not have the back end lower than the front.

I really need to wear out my OE tires so I can go up a size or two, it would make it look a ton better IMO...

Here are some pictures. I dd not have any of the truck before I installed the ReadyLift parts, but I think everyone knows what these trucks look like stock.

Your truck looks really good and perfectly level.

When I did mine, I actually tried different blocks and ended up going with the 3" blocks. It fit my taste better that way and sits level when heavily loaded. We loaded the truck with each set of blocks and they worked the best. Sits perfect side by side with an HD front and rear as it is now.
