The overseas bases have subsidized/discounted fuel right? For your sake I hope so! Haha.

Yes, but unfortunately only for military people and US civilians, and i'm not.... yet :(:D actually they have depending on their job or duty different coupons that corresponds to a certain amount of gallons each month (or year, really don't know) for free, and they pay like us do, but i think that amount is fair and reasonable.

But, majority of italians that own an american car here in europe (especially the ones that use thirsty V8s as daily driving) have installed a LPG system (both my Mustang and the Avalanche does), since its cost here is very low (less than half the regular gas, which is 91oct here, today it was 0,25gal=2,15$ .... sad uh? and this LPG is half, so quite fair) and the car still runs great with no difference in driveability. Cons : having a second tank and a second injection system (if not installed correctly can be a pain in the ass for proper service) and some specific emulators for the standard injectors and in modern cars for re-setting the reading of the remaining liters\gallons in the gas tank. Imagine having a full tank of gas and the digital display saying "come on, fill up, you're on reserve" :D But apart from these things than once done are set, i'm really satisfied about these systems, plus they are 100% green and don't pollute (so you can drive also in restricted areas or downtowns during "green sundays")

That sounds much better. Currently you can get 91/93 octane in the US for not much more than you're paying per liter. And thankfully the emissions reductions in cities hasn't happened here yet.
